Vehicle Detail
You’re looking at a genuine ’83 Mustang GT. I bought this from a friend of mine’s dad who bought it just like it is around 2005 from the guy who built the car in the 90s. I bought it in 2011 and I have only put about 100 miles on it myself. It drives very well. The miles listed aren’t the actual odometer reading but are is very close. The car is stored offsite and I will verify the actual reading and add it to this listing on Wednesday. In the fall of 2011 I drove to the gas station, filled the tank, added Stabil, and drove home intending to put it up for the winter. It was just a few miles. After sitting in the driveway for an hour or so, I decided to put it in the garage and it wouldn’t start. It cranked slow. I thought, OK, the starter is probably toast. I bought a new PowerMaster starter but it made no difference. I’ll fix it in the spring, I thought. Then in Feb of 2012 my wife was diagnosed with a terminal illness and that changed everything. The car has been in storage since. I am hoping someone can get it back on the road and enjoy it. It is a 302, Dart Windsor Jr heads that have been port matched to the Victor intake with a 3310-4 750CFM Holley. The car has a Ford Motorsport E cam, roller lifters, and roller rockers. The compression ratio is around 10.25:1, but runs great on 91 and sounds great. The car has long tube headers with full exhaust. There is a scattershield, World Class T5, aftermarket shifter, 8.8 rear axle with a 4.10 posi. The car has adjustable rear lower control arms, sub-frame connectors, and, obviously, Weld Wheels. There is a nitrous system installed with a fully modified fuel system to accommodate including tank sump, and two electric fuel pumps with regulator and a rear mounted battery box. There is also a line lock and an MSD box with timing advance that is adjustable from inside the car. The interior is really nice, I think. Original everything (carpet, dash, upholstery) except for the tach, A-pillar oil pressure and water temp gauges, and control box on the console. It hasn’t been butchered or cut up. The body is solid. The hood is a fiberglass cowl unit that uses the original hinges and stock hood latch, no lift off or hood pins. The underside of the car is also solid. I have to mention the area where the driver outer seat track bolts…it is in one of the pictures, there is some break through there with what appear to be stress cracks. It has been repaired although not by me and I am not sure how well. The bottoms of the doors and hatch are solid. The car comes with a cover, the original hood, and an extra T-5 trans (nothing wrong with the one in the car but it never hurts to have a spare). Ask any questions before bidding. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required via Paypal within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance is due within 7 days of the close of the auction and is payable by cashier’s check or cash. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE On May-28-14 at 13:12:04 PDT, seller added the following information: The actual odometer reading is 83492. I cannot say if these miles are actual but based on the condition of the car, I have always accepted the miles to be accurate. I wanted to add that the extra T-5 that comes with the car isn't just a throw in. It is a '92 that had the second highest factory torque capacity next to the '93 Cobra. It also comes with an aftermarket B&M shifter and a new steel bearing retainer. And one more thing, just to clarify, I know the auction location lists Hartland, Michigan but the car is actually located in Clinton Township, Michigan. On May-28-14 at 16:51:40 PDT, seller added the following information: This is something I intended to add to the original description, just to be clear, this car has a few dings and chips here and there. To the best of my knowledge, it was painted sometime in the late 90s. It still looks great and has a great shine, I just want to make sure to mention that it isn't flawless.
