This auction is for a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This T/A is painted the desirable, code 50, Solar Gold. Only 29,750 original miles have been put on the car since new. It still retains its W72 matching number 400 and 4-speed transmission. It has a 3.08 gear in the differential. The original black interior is still in the car and is in great condition. Factory options include: PW, PS, PB, tilt steering, power trunk release, rear window defogger, window sill moldings and air conditioning. This is a radio delete car. Air and heat are not working, but all components are in place. The mileage is stated as original on the title. The car has had an older repaint and it appears that all of the sheet metal is original to the car. The engine has had an aftermarket intake, carb, valve covers, camshaft, headers and exhaust added. The rear brakes have been upgraded to disc and larger sway bars added as with the 8" wheels. Within the last 4 months the following work was completed & parts replaced: new tires, battery, battery hold down, new master cylinder, flush & bleed brakes with DOT 5 fluid, engine tune-up, pvc valve, fuel hoses, fuel pump, regasket carb, new radiator, radiator cap, water pump, thermostat, upper and lower hoses, fan clutch, belts, washer jar, washer motor, front end alignment, resealed transmission, resealed differential, new power window switch and replaced the shifter knob. This Trans Am runs and drives well. It would make a great cruise night or local show car. The way it has been built, it would also be suitable for the Power Tour or the Bandit Run. This car comes with its original build sheet, PHS documents, window sticker and repair receipts.
