Vehicle Detail

1966 Studebaker Cruiser with less than 25,000 original miles (as of the start of this posting). It has the 283 with the Borg Warner Flight-o-Matic transmission. When I bought this car this year, it still had the original bias ply tires on it (they still held air and I test drove the car with those tires on it), and it has the original spare tire in the trunk. I put some radials on it, but I kept the original tires. It had the original windshield wiper blades (I put new blades on, but kept the originals). It has all the paperwork from the factory (owners manual, accessory guide, etc.). The interior is almost like new, the paint is original and in good condition, and it has never had any rust on it anywhere (a few very small surface rust spots, but absolutely nothing cancerous). It has lived its entire life in a garage. Mechanically, the engine runs perfectly and does not smoke at all. The transmission shifts great, and it is incredibly smooth while driving it. You can just tell it has such low mileage. The break pads and cylinders were changed in 2009 (and few miles have since been put on the car), and last week I had the brake system flushed out, put in new brake fluid, and had the brakes adjusted. It has the best manual brakes I've ever used. The Studebaker is 100% original and complete, like it came from the factory. Before I bought it, it was a one-owner car that belonged to a man who passed away in 2009 at the age of 90 (I bought it from his grand son). Overall, it has to be one of the most original, complete Studebakers left from 1966 (the last year they were made). As I understand, there were less than 9,000 1966 Studebakers made, and this is one of the finest remaining examples I've seen outside of a museum. If you have any questions, please call me at 850-516-1484 and I would be happy to talk to you about it. My name is John. On May-20-14 at 06:57:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I noticed yesterday something interesting that speaks volumes about the car's provonance. You can see on the front windshield in the bottom corner of the driver's side there is an Indiana inspection sticker. On the back of the sticker, details are listed about the inspection. The date is 3-11-77, and the station number and car's VIN are listed. The mileage of the Studebaker at the time of inspection in 1977 was 17,xxx miles! I just thought that was interesting and I wanted to share. I will try to post another picture before auction close.
