Vehicle Detail
1979 Chevrolet Corvette, Excellent Cond, 350, 6 spd, Dk Blue, 78, 80, 81, 82 Low Reserve!! Beautiful 79’ Corvette 350 small block chevy engine 6 speed manual transmission (yes a modern 6spd) 26,000 on engine and transmission Custom Front body kit, hood, fenders, nose and hood. Dark Metallic Blue paint Black interior Power windows, A/C Tilt steering wheel Newer tires with lots of tread New gas tank, and sender Recently checked and maintenance by my mechanic Last season was driven for 3,000+ miles. Including one trip of over 1,000 miles over two days with zero issues. 1 piece acrylic t-top. It’s loud, it’s fast and it is SOOO MUCH FUN!!! And a real head turner. The custom body kit is a show stopper. People want to know what it is and think it is beautiful. At car shows, Vette aficionado’s love the car too because it is different, and very tasteful. Kids think it is one of Batman’s cars. I tell them it is his regular car when he is not saving lives and stopping criminals. I’ve always wanted a Vette and so I did and its been great. It’s amazing for first dates and to show off to your buddies. But I am getting ready to move and the new place does not have an extra garage. It is always garaged and I have only used the top once because it’s only taken out on sunny days since I’ve owned it. My young kids love going for a ride with me on the beautiful New England roads. Nothing better than finding a new ice cream shop on a summer night or taking it to the occasional car show. Body Kit: The aftermarket custom body kit is a fantastic look. It is the front fenders, hood, and front bumper. The doors and back end have not been altered. The kit is beautiful and subtle with slightly larger fenders and the vents in the hood and fenders. Just enough to make this car distinctive and different but not overdone or weird. This is why I bought the car and I love it. You can see the same kit (front end) in the Corvette book in the photos. There are no cracks or problems with the kit. DRIVETRAIN – Engine and Transmission The 350 Chevrolet small block engine and modern 6 speed manual transmission had only 20,000 miles on it according to the previous owner when I bought it. So now it has about 26,000 on it (actual mileage unknown – mileage on car higher and unkown). Previous owner said it is mildly warmed over with a .30 bore. Both are very strong and run perfectly. The 6 speed manual transmission rarely uses 6th gear because you have to going at least 80 mph to get the RPMs up to 1400 for a smooth drive. Highways are usually in 5th gear and very comfortable at 75 mph. Gets about 25 mpg too. The engine and transmission are tight (no leakes). The exhaust is in great condition. It has a straight muffler so it is loud. It started up immediately after being parked for the winter. Runs great and ready to go. The gas tank and tank unit was replaced last season. It had a pinhole leak. Tank was professionally replaced with original parts including the sender and gaskets. At the same time the mechanic did a complete check. He said brakes and drivetrain is all in great working condition. Exterior: With a car that is 35 years old there is always going to be challenges. While I have done some maintenance and a few repairs to make the car nicer, here is the TLC this car can use. The back spoiler needs to be repainted. You can see the blemish. The paint peeled on the spoiler and I touched it up with a similar blue just to make it the same color. I never got around to painting the spoiler for a proper repair. The lower front valence needs to be touched up from where aftermarket fog lights used to be. The body is in very good condition but has its share of touched up nicks and chips. For a ’79, it’s to be expected. The glass top is a one-piece acrylic (I do not have the original t-tops). The a/c does not work (new painless wiring not tired in?). Parts are all there, but not functioning. Doesn’t matter, I always drive with the top off. Interior: Seats are new and in perfect condition. The cabin rug is new and in perfect condition. The back storage deck is original rug and is faded, but in okay condition. It has aftermarket Autometer speedometer and Tachometer and painless wiring. The radio is not great. It works, but I am not a fan of it. And the dash pad is cracked and that is why there is a cover seen in the pics. The interior also needs a new lower dash valance (missing), and new parking brake handle. Extras: Comes with the corvette book in the photos. The reserve is low because I want to sell it this week. It’s a great looking car and lots of fun to drive. To be clear. This car is not in perfect condition. Its in great condition, and meant to be driven and have fun, not trailered to shows. For the money you will get a great car and lots of summer fun. Payment: Deposit of $500 via Paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. Car must be picked up within 10 days of end of auction Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping. Cash in person (or wire transfer if vehicle is being shipped via carrier truck). ***Vehicle will not be released until full payment is made. No checks of any kind. Car is located in Danbury Connecticut area. This C3 Corvette body style ran from 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, & 1982. This is NOT a stingray.
