Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 1970 Camaro. I planned to build a high end protouring ride but a new job and a new born baby resulted in a car that gets very little of my time these days. All the mechanics are done and the car is a great driver. Build details and blog, including quick videos can be found by googling: ZZ502 TKO600 Project. Blog is on NastyZ28 website. I have the reserve at a fair price, well below what I have into it. Here is this car's story: The Camaro was found in a garage in Illinois and had been sitting for 10 years without a motor or trans. The owner wanted to restore it, but never got to it. The Camaro is an original V8 car with an automatic trans, cranberry exterior with a black interior (car was build #932 in 1970 - March Build Date). I bought the body in 2007 and began building it in 2010. The car is very solid (floors, rockers, doors, trunk all solid). The quarters are ok (some small patching in the fender wells); the lower passenger side quarter from the body line down had been replaced years ago (not too clean of a repair). The frame was tied and it had a recent suspension rebuild with a Ford 9" - I would soon redo the suspension and even go through the Ford 9". After looking at about twelve 70 to 73 Camaros, I quickly bought this one, as it is rare to find a Camaro this solid (albeit not perfect). The car had a 100% new interior and was a perfect candidate for a fresh power plant, huge brakes and a lowered stance. This is what we did: GM Performance Parts ZZ502 (502 HP, 567 TQ on pump gas) Bolted Hooker supercomp headers with 2" primaries Comp Cams Roller Rockers and Lockers MSD 6AL ignition March serpentine kit Tuff Stuff Alternator and P/S Pump, Edelbrock Water pump Holley electric fuel pump with stainless braided lines Holley 850 double pumper Aluminum 3 core radiator Custom electric fan set up Mini Starter GMPP Tall Valve Covers Professionally dyno tunedTremec TKO 600 by American Powrtrain (5-speed with .64 Overdrive) Quicktime steel bell housing High performance clutch package (600hp - 600 tq rated)Protouring F-Body Comp Suspension Kit 3 way adjustable shocks stiffer, lower springs all around G-braces under hoodPypes 3" stainless steel exhaust kitKore 3 - Corvette Brake Kit Stainless lines 13" front rotors 12" rear rotors Late model master cylinder and boosterBillet Specialists Mag-G wheels BFG Tires (255/40/ZR18 - 295/35/ZR18)Autometer Gauges Modified factory bezel 5" Speedo and Tach Fuel, temp, volt, oil pressureAftermarket 3-pt Seat beltsFord 9" Rear end - 3:70 gearAll New Electrical Battery relocated to trunkCustom LED tail lightsHID HeadlightsI have a lot of parts that go with the car (and a lot of receipts): all the trim (interior and exterior), new weather stripping, mirrors, and a new headliner. Really the is car is 100% complete. The thoughts was to take it all apart and get in painted to perfection. Again, I just don't have the time or the interest anymore. My loss of interest is your gain. My reserve is less than what I have into the parts, not including what I paid for the car itself. You are can separate the car from the powertrain and sell it - use the motor and transmission for your project, or drive the car as is. Again, my goal was to build a 100% restored protouring big block manual transmission monster. I got 85% of my goal complete and now drive the car rarely. Car is as-is where-is. Deposit of $500 required within 48 hrs or I contact other bidders with an offer to buy. The car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime and sell it. We did not build this car on the cheap. We had a concept and didn't mind spending the money to get it right. So here it is! A great 1970 Camaro that is a blast to drive - happy bidding!
