NOTE: This Street Rod scares young children, attracts good-looking women, and makes men feel inferior. You have been warned . . . 1941 Chrysler Royal Series C28S 2-door Luxury Brougham Extremely rare One of only 27 known to exist (see below) Offered at NO RESERVE !!! This custom 2-door street rod is cruise-ready and street-legal. She’s not a trailer queen, but she’s definitely a show stopper and draws crowds of folks and “thumbs up” wherever she goes. The paint is in great shape, except for a few small bubble spots down low and a small scratch/popped-out dent on the driver’s side rear quarter near the fuel door, but you have to look closely for it to see it. Still, she’s just beautiful. Gorgeous Raspberry Red and Pearl White paint sets this car off from all others. Her all-steel body (including running boards) is very solid. Doors open and close with ease and body panels line up true. She has classy, but not over-done, pin-striping and the hood has ghost flames. This car was built for the highway, and what a pleasure it is to drive. She is powered with a rebuilt GM-350 matched to a new 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission which is coupled to a Ford 9” rear via a custom, balanced driveshaft. Engine monitoring is presented through VDO gauges. She maneuvers easily with center-point power rack & pinion steering, tracks true, and stops nicely with her power brakes. She rolls on 17” Goodyear Eagles that are wrapped around beautiful Chrysler 300M LHS chrome alloy mag wheels. It is graced with a Cadillac leather interior and dual electric seats that are wide and extremely comfortable. Fender skirts, painted in matching Pearl White, come with the car. Her butterfly hoods are crowned with 60 louvers each. Extremely rare! Frenched headlights, frenched taillights, frenched antenna and license plate recess, and her blended fender seams make this car highly unique. There is always a crowd around this car. Listen to your favorite music from her brand new AM/FM/CD-R/CD-RW Receiver with anti-theft detachable faceplate. You can connect your iPod or iPhone to the front panel. It also has a USB charging port. This is the ultimate cruise machine and has that eye-catching perfect stance. With no chop and no channeling she is easy to enter and exit and you don't have to scrunch down your body to drive it. The air-conditioning will keep you plenty cool in the summers and the heater will warm you all winter long. This is an extremely comfortable car to drive and will be a true pleasure on long road trips. And, yes, she is equipped with seatbelts. She has plenty of room for friends and family members. This well-appointed car has very low miles (under 2,200) since build. There was a ton of money and expert labor put into the building of this outstanding street rod, and it shows. In September 1998, a professional search of registrations, salvage figures, computer extrapolations, and production numbers was conducted. The research concluded that as of that date, only 27 of this make and model vehicle still existed. It is now more than 15-years later. There may be less than 27 of these cars left. The certificate (see photo) documenting these findings will be included with the car. A little 1941 Chrysler Royal Brougham history . . . The reason there were so few of these cars produced was because of the Japanese attack on the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor which thrust the United States into World War II. As a 1941 automobile, only 8,006 of these Royal Broughams were built before the assembly lines were shut down to retool for war production. The government gave Chrysler $20-million – over $316-billion by today’s standards – to expand and retool the plant and begin building tanks (instead of cars) as ordered by the Automotive Council for War Production. Chrysler would not again build cars in earnest until 1946. Owning some of the last pre-war steel that rolled out of Detroit is both humbling and a source of pride. I hope that whoever wins this car will care for her with the respect her history deserves. I have.
