Vehicle Detail
1954 Plymouth Savoy. Runs and Drives great! Original engine and transmission. 230 cu in flathead six cylinder. 110 horse power. The engine runs smooth like a b sewing machine. It fires right up and idles great. The engine does smoke a little bit from the breather cap. Power-flite automatic transmission. This is a true automatic without a clutch. This was one of the first years offered with this transmission. Other years had a clutch for starting and stopping. I have calculated the rear gear ratio to approximately 3.80. The body on this car is solid! The frame is solid, the floor pans are solid, and the rest of the body is solid. There a few small holes in the trunk; and I mean very small. The rockers have just started to rust. I will try to post some pictures of them ASAP. This car has less rust than my 1999 Dodge truck! I have all of the trim. Most of it has been removed. These pieces will be in the car. The front windshield is cracked, the driver window is cracked, and the passenger rear window has been replaced with plexi-glass. All of the lamps are working except for the dome lamp. Some one removed the dome light and never re-installed it when the headliner was replaced. The headlight dimmer switch is new along with new headlamps, tail lamps, stop lamps, and turn signal flasher. Heck even the horns work! The interior has been redone at some point. There is stains on the seats and headliner from water leaking into the car. All of the window regulators, door locks, and latches are there and working properly. The blower motor is new and works properly. The heater box and core is in the engine compartment, but the hoses have not been hooked up yet. I will try and get this done ASAP. I just brought the car out to get new tires on it and it was a bit cold! Started up and ran like a champ though! The windshield wiper motor works correctly, and I have new wiper blades(correct metal ones) that have not been installed. All of the gauges are working properly and the dash lights are working properly as well. The headlight dimmer switch works, the instrument dimmer switch works, and the wiper switch works. Everything is working like it should! New brake cylinders. New White wall tires. New ignition coil, points, cap, rotor, wires, and spark plugs. New Fuel pump. Brand new battery. This car runs, drives, and stops like it should. I got this car from another hot rodder that had painted the car flat black and faux rust. That is not rust on the roof! I have all of the trim, including the missing front windshield sash(inside). I drive this car around town routinely and get approximately 18 miles to the gallon. The transmission shifts smoothly and the engine has power up to highway cruising speeds. I have had this car on the highway up to 65mph for short trips. You can literally jump in this car and drive! That being said I do not offer any warranty on this car; nor do I recommend driving it home. I also have a new Offenhauser dual carb intake manifold and linkage for this engine included with this car. This intake in new and has never been installed. Search Ebay and you can see what they are worth. Hard to find speed parts for these old dodge flatheads! Furthermore, I have another carter b&b for quick and easy setup. Nice solid little car. Would make a quick project or fun cruiser for somebody.
