I bought this Sami last summer knowing it had issues. It had little rust and body and frame looked good. I bought it to carry on hunting trips in the back of my toy hauler travel trailer. I was going to use it as a street legal 4 wheeler. Last summer it would start and run, but smoked a lot. I put new tires on it. I have replaced the rear differential and wheel bearings. I have also replaced brake line and rear brakes. The front end transfer case and differential are good and 4X4 works fine.This spring I tried to start and starter made squealing-grinding sound. Replaced with rebuilt starter. Same thing . Starts maybe one out of five times. I think ring gear is chewed up. Talked to a couple mechanics. One said overhaul would probably fix it,but he is too busy. The other said it probably needs motor replaced. (Currently looking for good used motor). Either solution is beyond my capability.
