I have owned this vehicle for three years. It is and has been my only daily driver.. In the time I have been the owner I have replaced many parts in order to make it a safe and dependable vehicle in which I demand. The car was previously used as a tow vehicle it still maintains the heavy duty wiring harness up front and is wired into the system, not sure if the plug in is universal though. Prior to me buying the car, the clutch was supposedly replaced. As stated it does not carry the original engine. An engine from a 1984 gti 1.8 gas more than compensates. There is no oil loss, leaks, or oil burn. I have replaced with new or rebuilt parts the alternator, battery, timing belt, and tensioner, plugs and wiring. fuel pump and filter, water pump, front struts, c.v. joints, tie rod ends and inners, rear wheel bearings. New Cooper all weather tires all around. There is a new white vinyl Hartz top that comes with the car. I have only put at most 3500 miles on car and new brake pads were put on around the time of clutch replacement. As I am having more and more physical problems at my age getting in and out of the rabbit I have elected to sell it and get into a somewhat larger vehicle.I should say that the air conditioner components have been removed though the main lines are intact to the cabin if someone were so inclined to restore.. 25-28 mpg hwy. fun to drive.. Buyer would need to take possession of car here. Or for additional fee i suppose i could persuade my son to deliver. This is a cash only transaction. Make offer.
