Vehicle Detail

This survivor has been stored in a garage for the past ten years in a dry Oklahoma climate, and with only a few hours of tinkering and a new battery, this 291 Hemi engine is running and sounds good - no smoke. With a new master cylinder kit we have brakes, but they should be gone through before putting on-road. The two-speed Powerflite transmission shifts just fine. The speedometer is steady with no jittering. Tires hold air but are not road-worthy. Very complete car, all there except rear tail light lenses. Body is straight. Roof has some dents that can be straightened out pretty easily. Original paint needs to be redone, but metal is solid and won't take much to get it ready for painting. Car will need some wiring work. Gauges, wipers and blower motors all work but gas gauge needs some attention. Interior will need new headliner and upholstering. All interior stainless trim is there. The dash top is faded but the control panel looks good. Dash-mounted clock and radio are there, but don't know if they work or not. Rear glass and rear door glass is good but windshield and front door glass is cracked. All vent glass is good. Window regulators and door handles all work. Car also has a complete Deluxe Air Conditioning System, with condenser, compressor, magnetic clutch, refrigerant supply tank, connecting tubes and control switches, with evaporator in trunk. It's all there, but will need to be cleaned and recharged. This car was originally purchased in Guymon, Oklahoma, and still has the dealer emblem on it. The '55 Desoto is still well-known for it's highly sought-after grill, which is still in great condition, and the air scoop emblem is still there. The trunk is in good condition, no holes. There is a little bit of light surface rust, but car is pretty solid otherwise. This is a very complete car needing very little work to be road-worthy, or a good start for a complete restoration project! Please contact Larry with any questions at 580-313-0752. Car has a clear title and is ready for transfer.
