Vehicle Detail
Here is an absolutely SPECTACULAR and incredible car! This is a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 4 door sedan with only 9,500 ORIGINAL MILES! That is NOT a misprint. I am not talking about 9,500 miles on a rebuilt engine, or 9,500 miles since restoration. rather, this unbelievable time capsule has ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 9,500 MILES SINCE NEW 42 YEARS AGO! Very striking in white with blue interior, this Malibu is equipped as follows: 1. 307 cubic inch V8 "small block" engine with 2 barrel carb. 2. Powerglide automatic transmission. 3. Power steering 4. AM radio 5. Deluxe cloth and vinyl interior group and appearance group This beautiful Chevelle has approximately 95% of its original paint and looks great! Nice and shiny, not faded or oxidized. Chrome and bright work are also bright and crisp. This is one of the most original cars I have seen! The only things I see that have been changed are the alternator fan belt (original is in trunk), possibly the distributor cap, rotor, and the battery. It still has its original hoses, wiper blades, headlights, shocks, etc., and has never been detailed or cleaned up under the hood! Still looks great! Underside of car is also nice and clean, not scaly like many you see. The interior is just like new with no issues (no rips, tears, fading, cracks etc.). Still even has that new car smell to it. As you would imagine, this car hits the road just like new! Everything works, and the engine and drive line are smooth and powerful. Cruises effortlessly at highway speeds, with no problems or issues that I am aware of. All items such as lights, radio, wipers, heater, etc. all work with no known issues. I drove it on a 225 mile trip recently with no problems at all. I would not be afraid to drive anywhere! Still has all 5 original tires with good tread remaining. NOTE: In some of the pictures, modern radial tires are shown. This is because I temporarily put that set of tires and wheels from another car in my collection on it to take on the trip and to a couple shows so as not to wear out or damage the original tires or wheels. The car will be sold with the originals back on it. The best way I can describe this car is to imagine you have a time machine that could transport you back to late 1972 or early 1973 just as the new 1973's were coming out. It is like going to your Chevy dealer back then and buying one of his leftover 1972 demonstrator cars! Yes, before you moan and groan that it is a 4 door, I wish it was a 2 door too! However, I would much rather have a virgin, un-molested, honest 4 door than a thrown together 2 door for much more money that is full of rust and bondo! Great car for Survivor class at car shows or vintage car tours. Remember, they are only original once! Please call me at 704-661-1326. I am in and out quite a bit, so best to leave messages if not in. I will call you back ASAP NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! ABOUT ME: I have been a collector and enthusiast of Postwar American cars for nearly 40 years! I maintain a "rotating collection" of 6 to 10 such vehicles. Sometimes I sell one out of the collection to make way for a new arrival. I favor un-restored original "Survivor" cars from the late 1950s to mid 1970s. I have been at the same location for 27 years. I am in the Charlotte, NC area, about 30 minutes from the city. Now for the rules: IMPORTANT: Please read and understand these rules BEFORE bidding. They are part of the listing terms and contract you are agreeing to when you bid. Please DO NOT bid, then try to change them later. That's not how it works. If you have questions, please ask and get answers BEFORE you bid. If you don't intend to abide by the rules, please look elsewhere. 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid! 2. A NON-REFUNDABLE $1200 partial payment is due within 48 hours of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer or cashiers check. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 3. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's close. This can be by bank wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. If you are paying balance upon pickup of car, it must be cash in person. 4. Car and title will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. If you are paying with ANY kind of check, it must clear MY bank before car or title will be released. No exceptions! 5. Car is sold strictly as-is at my premises with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it is still YOUR responsibility. 7. If you cannot pick up car immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 7 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God. Please also be aware that I leave for my summer home out of state on or around May 1st. Car must be picked up by then unless prior arrangements are made. If you need more time for pickup, it can be worked out, but we do need to make plans for this. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any further questions about this. 10. If you have been an Ebay member for less than a year and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, and/or have less than a 95% rating, you MUST contact me BEFORE you bid. Failure to do this may result in my cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding on my items. I understand that new members can be great customers, but I must talk to you first. Thanks a lot. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326. Leave messages if no answer. Thanks for looking!
