Vehicle Detail
First let me say, this car has appeal with it's original teal blue color along with the parchment top & interior it's unbelievably gorgous then the white Yenko stripes set it off even more. I would like to fit in here that it started out as a 57,000 mile actual survivor, below is a list of the following highlights: 1) all numbers matching including: 1-Engine & Transmission 2-Original Starter from 1968 3-Original Water Pump from 1968 4-Still retains the original date coded spark plug wires that came on it in 1968 2) Interior: 1-Headliner looks almost new 2-Door panels, unbelievable 3-Dash, almost flawless 4-Carpet, a little wear but very good condition 5-Seats are nice, front seat has been recovered in original upholstery because of yellowing from use over the years 6-Overall interior is a 9 out of a 10 really nice & original 3) Body: 1-Car has a great body with all the original panels 2-Original floors. Floor pans have never been welded on or replaced 3-Trunk is nice & original doesn't look to have even rust pits fixed. 4-Only the lower portions of front fenders have been replaced & they were done correctly only the very bottom of the rear quarters have been replaced & were done correctly. 5-Doors are excellent 6-Body lines are straight & all the same 7-Around the windows are near perfect 8-The original vynil top is almost like new never been dyed or replaced no bubbles under it, just a little shrinking on one side at back glass way to nice to replace 9-All glass is nice & original best I can tell, maybe a nick or scuff is all. 10-All windows go up & done like a new Chevelle 11-All stainless & chrome is outstanding the only thing I know that's been changed is the exterior door handles. All the other trim on this car looks as good as the new handles. 12-The rear bumper has a small dent, but I wouldn't change it it's too nice. 13-All the rubber around the doors, roof rail, trunk, & elsewhere is all soft & doesn't need replacing, it's hard to believe it has been on there since day one. 14-Paint is extremely nice just a few little blemishes in one area that are so slight that my camera couldn't pick them up, the paint in my opinion is a 9 out of a 10, it's slick & really glossy to never had been colored sanded or buffed there is nothing wrong with this paint job Tons of new parts, this car has not been thrown together for a quick resale, it has been done right so it's not like everything is going to go bad later down the road. New Flow master exhaust with correct tips really sound good, the new tires & torque thrust wheels really make this car stand out. The entire car is highly detailed, under hood is the 327-350h.p. clone engine that looks right at home. Not only is under hood outstanding, but so is the front suspension. Trunk is immaculate with all jack hardware with an original wheel for a spare. Original AM radio play good, the only thing I know that doesn't work is the fuel gauge just haven't taken time to look at it. The power steering & brakes are all good. Engine is as sound & smooth as the day it was built, it should it only has 57,000 miles. The doors, hood, trunk, all open & close like they should, I don't know of anything that is worn out. it still retains the 4 original t-3 headlights from 1968 that all still burn! This is one of the nicest Chevelle's I have seen or had at this price. The car cranks, runs, shifts, steers & stops like it should, it is a very nice car top to bottom in my opinion. If you would like to have a third party or appraiser to look at it that would be fine. There is know way anybody could buy a good body & then do all work plus parts, paint & materials to do one at this level not even counting the low miles for what you could buy this car already done & complete. I bought this car sight unseen except for a few pictures & I was impressed when I got it. So I think the next care taker will feel the same way. if you were into model cars back when you were young, you probably remember the ones that had 3 different ways to build them.this car is sort of like that.to put this nice car back to the original look, just put the blue wheels with white walls or red lines back on it,with the dog dish style caps or the full magnesium wheel covers?then just pull the yenko stripes off(3m decals)and youve pretty much got an original car look that still has 57,000 miles!.....this car has so many ways to do it. so bid to own it,and if you have no intention in buying, please dont waste my time.ask the wife first if you have too.....heres a hint, the reserve is way less than $20,000.thanks On Mar-18-14 at 13:44:57 PDT, seller added the following information: i forgot to add this on my previous description.im a licensed dealer dba hathcock auto sales and restoration.ive had someone to ask if i charge doc fees or any other fees or taxes, the answer is no.what you bid is all you will actually pay for the car, thanks On Mar-18-14 at 19:03:33 PDT, seller added the following information: someone asked if this is a real yenko,no,to my knowledge ive never known one to exist.thats why ive put clone in the description, plus all were big block cars.this is a great example of what could have been.
