Vehicle Detail
This is a very rare 1971 Spring Sports Coupe. It was a national Special Value Package hardtop offered in April and May of 1971. This model was dressed up to simulate a Boss 351 with hockey-stick stripes, NASA hood, Mach 1 grille, dual sport mirrors and the Mach 1’s color coordinated bumper group. My car came without the vinyl roof, different from the car shown in the ad. I have done research on the production number and the number is not clear, but several Mustang sites state that only 500 were made. This is the only one I have ever seen. Engine: 302 ci, two barrel carb, runs great, has a lot of power, does not smoke or leak oil Transmission: C4 automatic. Shifts great, no leaks. Body: 90% original paint. Has some spots faded and some places have been touched up. Has some small dents and scratches. Rust free frame. Floor pans have been patched. Interior: New carpet, new dash and new door panels. Seats have some small tears. Headliner has some tears. Electrical: Headlights and tail lights work. Radio is original and does not work. Blower motor works, horn does not work. Interior light works. Wheels/ Tires: The tires are in great shape. The back are like new. The front are a little worn, but are not dry rotted. The wheels are Cragar SS’s. They are old and tarnished but still have a slight shine. Brakes: The brakes work great. It has a new master cylinder, brake line going to the rear, and both back wheel cylinders are new. This is a very solid car and runs great. The car was last licensed and registered in 1981, so it has only been on the road for 10 years. The mileage reads 128,000. I am not sure if the motor has been rebuilt. It starts right up every time and has a lot of power. It can burn the tires without applying the brakes. The engine does not smoke or leak oil or have any unusual noises. Most of the paint is original, but some places have been touched up. I have tried to keep the car as original as possible. I have owned the car for over a year, but have driven it less than 100 miles. The only leak is slight, which is some power steering fluid. I have not had time to address this issue. This is a great car, not a show car by any means, but it could be with a little work. It’s really a fun car to drive. The title is clear and in my name. I have tried to be as accurate as I can in describing this car. If you have any questions please call or text me at 501-804-5654. I will need a $500 deposit thru Paypal as soon as the auction ends. The buyer will be responsible for shipping. I will only accept a money order or cashiers check if the car is to be shipped. I can ship the car 5 days after depositing the money, after it clears.
