Vehicle Detail
****PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!!! THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN FORT WORTH TEXAS.PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN PROVIDE PICKUP OR TRANSPORTATION OF THE VEHICLE!! ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDS RESTORATION. I WILL ANSWER ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS ASKED. I WANT YOU TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR PURCHASE!!!***** This auction is for a 1974 Corvette Stingray with a 454 engine. This vehicle was found in a barn around San Antonio Texas. This is a very rare find because this was the last year of the big block engine in the C-3 body style The odometer on the vehicle shows 43 miles, although this cannot be confirmed. The vehicle looks like it is complete with all parts included with the vehicle. One of the main features that comes with the vehicle is a separate Muncie 4 speed transmission!! The person I bought the vehicle from said it was a Muncie rock crusher transmission, but I cannot confirm. The vehicle also comes with a separate set of seats in case you want to switch out the ones that are in the vehicle. A LITTLE ABOUT THE CAR First lets start with the bad. Looking at the pictures you can tell what the vehicle is missing. 1. A front bumper cover. 2. interior door panels. From what I can tell, that is it! The rest of the car looks like it is all there! Of course that doesn't mean this vehicle is going to be winning any awards for the way it looks, but it is a complete vehicle except for those 2 things. In terms of a 40 year old car that was found in a barn, I am surprised there is not more missing from it! Another issue with the car is that the engine needs to be reassembled. The pieces for the engine are with the vehicle, but they were off the vehicle when I purchased it, and I did not want to reassemble the engine because most buyers are going to want to restore the vehicle which would mean taking the engine apart anyway. In my opinion the vehicle will need to be restored, but if you are wanting to have a rare unrestored vehicle then this is it. Now the good. This is a car that has been off the market and off the road for the better part of 20 years. You will be driving a vehicle that has not been molested by others and has been tucked away from others for quite a while. Although the vehicle is in need of restoration, you can restore it the way YOU want to. If you only want to get it running, and then park it in the garage, then that is up to you. If you want to restore it to new condition and take it to all the car shows and win best in show awards with it, that's up to you to. If you want to have a vehicle you and your son/daughter can build together, this is perfect for that as well. Because the majority of the car is still in one piece, you can see how it comes apart and you can put it back together, just as easily. Some other good stuff about the car. It has a 454 cubic inch engine and a turbo 400 automatic transmission. The car does come with Muncie 4 speed manual transmission, so if you want to convert it to a manual transmission, you have the option! The car also has new tires. The tires it had before were cracked and falling apart, so to be able to transport it, I put new tires on it. The vehicle has manual windows and manual locks, but comes with air conditioning! None of the windows are broken, and the manual windows work great! Please look at ALL the pictures, and ask as many questions as you want, I am more than happy to answer them. SHIPPING AND PAYMENT I would prefer that this item be picked up. But I will help to arrange shipping if requested. Remember that auto transports can take anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks to deliver a vehicle, so if you are wanting to take delivery of your car quickly, this may not be the best option. Also, I do not know how much shipping a vehicle will cost. I estimate it would cost anywhere from $500 to $1000, but again this is just a guess. I will accept cashiers checks or money orders only. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM. ****UPDATE**** I was asked several times about the transmission. I have added a picture of the numbers on the side. Also, I was asked to confirm if the engine in the vehicle is original. The block on the engine has been resurfaced and so the vin number is not stamped on the engine.
