Vehicle Detail

No it does not run - Yet Price is high---due to rarity of car and having all the trim pieces and matching engine Not Trying to be rude, but if you don't have the money or just want to shoot the breeze about the car Please do NOT call Has 273 V-8 (was told by Several people all parts from 318 will match up) If you do not intend to buy then please do not bid- went through a whole mess last time I listed it with people living Mexico Continental U.S. Only The bad - Rear quarter panels - 1/3 down will need to be replaced , driver and passenger floor boards will need to be replaced The Good - Despite rusted floor pans , overall under carriage is very good , the notorious fire wall rot is not there (AT ALL) Call Mike #904-525-6161 Below is Emails concerning barracuda last time I posted : Hi Can you please tell me what the numbers are on the fender tag under the capital ABC. Thanks It looks like it is a hi-po 273 ie 4 barrel with the commando valve covers. The engine id id on the block below the drivers head. In the # will be the displacement. Scrape and look. Also the factory tack is rare. good luck. Hmmm. There should be a sheet metal tag on the portion of the driver's side fender under the hood. Around the rear wells externally need to be reworked , internally okay, the cowl is okay , door pillars good. Not sure what you mean as far as fender tag, it does have a badge the letter S with Formula over that. might be able to help with a 4-speed and posse rear end for an extra 500, guy I bought from planned on fixing it but never got to it and has both of those extras and some extra chrome. have to contact him though and see if he still has. Right now assume not. Very interested in your car. This is my wife's dream car (although she'd prefer a 4 speed). How is the body around the rear wheel wells and in the cowl and door pillar areas? Does it have a fender tag? I am near Lakeland FL, about 4 hours from Jax. Thanks- Alex Dear 630767, Thanks for the offer to do leg work. Might be too late this morning. There is a metal door under the dash board on the passenger's side. It has a tube that leads directly up to the cowl, and the area where the cowl meets the tube is very prone to rusting and extremely difficult to repair. It may be a bit difficult to squat on the ground, and put your arm up there as far as possible, but it's well worth it to avoid a thousand dollars or more of complex body work. - xlrx From: 630767 To: xlrx Subject: Re: Other: xlrx sent a message about Plymouth : Barracuda regular #181306694254 Dear xlrx, I wil get pic tomorrow of rear panels. Explain better what u want me to do with passenger side vent, Reached up and feels solid , not rot or even rust - 630767 From: xlrx To: 630767 Subject: Other: xlrx sent a message about Plymouth : Barracuda regular #181306694254 Dear 630767, Hi again. I don't suppose you could send close up pics of the poor quarter repairs? Change # to . (ebay blocks email addresses sometimes) On any 64 to 69 A body I like to put my arm up in the passenger side vent door to see if I can feel where it meets the cowl. If you could do that and it's solid, my bid will go way up. Hey there, I just bought one of these and can help you with the Fender tag. See here: ww.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.org/ml-osterling65fendertag.html SO (Shipping Order) NUMBER shows it's build date and five digit sequence number. V89: just means it's a Barracuda P4X: premium front bucket seats, vinyl, black PP1-B: Ruby Red (roof colour), Ruby Red (body colour), mono (not two-tone), no side sweep, Black (upper door frames). See the link for an explanation of the ABCDE etc. Formula S was the best model - 4 barrel carb, disc brakes, etc. I'd need know which numbers appear under which letters before I could decode that. If it's a Formula S, underneath the 'AB' it should have '31'. Hope that helps. V89=Barracuda hardtop; P4K trim=black interior; PP paint=Plymouth ruby red; under letters AB,#30=273 2 bbl & #31=273 4 bbl; under letter C, # 2=Formula S; under letter D, #5=auto trans; under E,#5=heater/def. Hi performance 273 would have dual point distributor & larger single exhaust w/rectangular tip. Formula S has 14" wheels and tach "add on" on left side of dash (1965); 1966 tach is built in to dash replacing a vacuum/economy/performance gauge. From what I see the engine is the 273. The valve covers are definitely 273. The 318 was not available in the Barracuda until 1967 when Plymouth introduced the new version of the 318. Previous to 1967 it was the poly head engine. Totally different configuration. I am very interested in it. I live down in Port Orange. Wayne Dear 630767, The original engine has no VIN stamped on the engine. MoPar started stamping VIN's on engines around '68. On one side of the engine is cast the cubic inch displacement and the other side of the engine is the year the block was cast. Big casting letters that are difficult to get to in an A-Body without a mirror, but can be done. Addressing the question if it's a 273 or 318: easy way to tell is remove a valve cover and look at the rockers. If the have adjustable rockers it's a 273. If no adjustable rockers it's a 318. By the looks of the pictures here's what I see: it's a 1965 Barracuda Formula S. The Formula S was the performance package that comes with a four barrel carb, factory tach, and those cool wrinkle painted valve covers. Also, I couldn't make it out in the pics but that little round emblem on the front fenders should say Formula S. The engine is a high compression engine, 10.5 to 1. I think your pretty fair in your asking price. Dear anothermoparmaniac, went by the person I bought it from. I trust them. If you can tell me where exactly to look, I'll verify. Thanks for the interest. - 630767 - anothermoparmaniac Where did you find the matching engine VIN? Dear 630767, Hi The fender tag is on top of the fender under the hood on the drivers side. It should have numbers under the capital ABC on the square tag. The tag is on the top part of the inner fender close to the front of the car. Thanks - junker60
