1972 AMC Javelin SST 401 GO PACK **ORIGINAL** LOW RESERVE These great looking AMC muscle cars are getting harder and harder to find especially those that have an original 401 Big Block. I originally bought this car to turn it into a Restomod, you don’t see very many AMC Restomods and I wanted to do something different. After I started to inspect the car it appeared to be 1 in about 400 original 1972 Javelin SST Go Pack cars that were made that year that was not a police cruiser or a Pierre Cardin car. After some careful thought and some soul searching I decided not to start cutting and modifying the car. As a car enthusiast, I love all cars and just could not bring myself to take this original beauty and change it forever. I know there is an AMC car lover out there that would appreciate this car!! There are just not many of these cars left, in this condition, at this price. So I am simply selling this American Beauty to fund my Restomod project (whatever that may be now)!! The car has newer paint that has been professionally buffed and polished. It is not a show winning paint job, but looks pretty darn good (just look at the pics). The javelin also has a newer black vinyl top with no rips or tares in it. The car runs a little rich with the 750 Holley on it, a 600 Holley might be more suitable for this mostly stock engine set up. The car shifts as it should and drives down the road pretty tight. The car could use a new exhaust. A new set of headers with a 3” exhaust would really do this car justice! The body has absolutely no rust on it. The car is pretty straight….which is one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. The front seats could use some freshening up (see pics). If I was keeping the car, I would definitely do some of the things I mentioned above, but you don’t have to. You can drive the car as it is and get thumbs up every time you take it out just the way it is!! Overall this really is a great car for the money………..especially if you are an AMC enthusiast. The car is not perfect, but you aren’t going to pay $25,000 for it either. It is just a really good old car for the money!! If you are an AMC car guy then this is the car for you! The car looks good, drives well and only needs you to make it complete! Drive it as is, or spend a little bit of money and take to the next level. Either way……………THIS IS A VERY COOL 401 GO PACK CAR.
