For Sale is a true time capsule 1978 AMC Matador WagonOnly 57,xxx miles, and this car is in unbelievable condition.These were strong over engineered cars when new, and this is no exception. The 360 ci V8 fires instantly, and settles into a nice purr. The Torque Command Transmission, shifts smooth and crisp. The A/C blows cold, and all accessories work well except the clock. This is a 6 passenger version so there is a lockable storage compartment in the rear cargo area.The interior is as clean as new, with no rips stains or wear anyplace, its unbelievable. The exterior wood grain is excellent no fading or peeling. A few minor scratches and old man dings, but nothing I would change. The tires are new, as is the exhaust. I just had a Major tune up completed plugs, wires and belts etc, I also added AMC Turbocast wheel covers, and will include the original, covers. So tie aunt Ethel to the roof rack, its ready for that trip to Wally World. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.I am the third owner of this car. The original owner bought it new from me at an AMC dealer here in Cincinnati, Ohio. When he passed an AMC collector in Columbus got the car. I purchased the car from him.
