Vehicle Detail
This car is gorgeous and perfect and awesome & looking for the right home. It is leased through December 2016 and the transaction I'm looking for is technically a lease takeover. However, I fully pre-paid the lease at signing so I am looking for a cash "buyer" to pay me what I paid to BMW Financial Services last month. Winning bidder is the bidder who gets as close to making me whole as possible. Quick overview of lease details: 36 months commencing December 6, 2013 - 10,000 miles per year, $67,982.75 residual. Lease includes wheel & tire protection as well as "surface protection" This car is so new there is almost nothing to say about its specs or performance or characteristics that you can't see online. You can search "car & driver 2014 M5 competition package" to get a sense of what makes it special vs a regular M5. Then go online to bmwusa and build a car with these same options to see what it looks like in detail. I will say this, for what it is worth: this is an extremely powerful car that still flies under the radar thanks (in part) to the singapore grey exterior paint. It is sufficiently docile as a daily driver - this M DCT transmission is amazing if you haven't driven it - it manages curbs and speed bumps without punishing you. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and has every single imaginable luxury and several you probably haven't imagined. The lighting package is fantastic - amazing visibility after dark plus it looks wicked cool during the day. The car is so "nice" that my wife didn't notice that it was an M-car for awhile, she just thought it was a very nice 5 series. It wasn't until I got into the throttle a bit with her in the car one day that she heard the exhaust note and felt pushed back in her seat that she asked about it. For an M5 buyer - that's a good thing. It's a true Q ship. But on the performance side - holy smokes. The car goes like a scalded cat. The 7 speed M DCT transmission that seems so easygoing and friendly in "comfort" mode becomes an F1 transmission instantly when you switch to sport or sport plus - matching revs on downshifts, holding your gear when you want it it to hold your gear. The exhaust note at full song is gorgeous - I know some complain about the speakers piping "extra" exhaust sound in but trust me you will. not. care. There is enough power here to break the rear end loose when you plant it at almost any speed. Again - I know purists hate the traction control but I'm sure it saves some serious $ and besides - it is easy to switch off or down to a lesser level. Having said all that - if you are looking at M5's you probably know everything I just said. So you must be wondering why am I selling this car if it is so wonderful. Essentially I have determined that it's not the right time for this car for me. It's hard to explain in rational terms - but I'm a father of four still somewhat young kids, I love (and kept) my Land Cruiser, and am finding myself too uptight about keeping this car protected, pristine, and perfect. My loss, your gain. SO - if you are interested in getting into an M5 for the next 34 months without all the hassle and expense of finding the perfect car, dealing with the sales & finance teams at the dealership, etc etc, then of course having the right to just hand BMW the keys at the end of the lease and walk away OR pull the trigger on the residual and keep it in your driveway...we should talk. If you bid, understand that the winning bidder must be approved by BMW Financial Services. It's likely just a formality since they will not require any payments from you - I've already taken care of that as far as they are concerned. But still, you must be approved before I can transfer the lease to you. You will also be responsible for a $500 lease transfer fee payable to BMWFS. I'll require a deposit of $1,000 at auction close and then we can commence the transfer process with BMWFS. At that point you can also test drive the car. THERE WILL BE NO TEST DRIVES DURING THE BIDDING PROCESS - ONLY THE WINNING BIDDER MAY TEST DRIVE THE CAR, ONLY AFTER THE DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED AND THE LEASE TRANSFER PROCESS IS INITIATED. You can cancel the lease transfer process at any time prior to signing the final paperwork with BMWFS, and if you choose to do that I'll refund your deposit as well. Prior to finalizing the lease transfer, I'll require full payment (less the deposit) in certified funds.
