Vehicle Detail
I believe I am the original owner but I am not 100% sure, let me explain. I bought a 1968 cl 350 scramble just like the one you see here with my dad in 1968 from Larry Lilly motorcycles in Lancaster California. I drove that bike as my daily driver until I turned 18 years old then bought a car. My mother gave me 500.00 toward the purchase of the car and stated she was going to junk the bike. I am making this story short (honest). In 2010 my mother passed away and we found this bike in her garage under a lot of debris. No license plate and the speedometer (which had been broken) showed about 6,800 miles. I could not find any paperwork other than a title in her name. The gas tank paint was bad as vapor leaked from the gas cap and the seat was in bad shape from items stacked on it for years. The tires still had air but the sides where cracking. I pulled it out, had the tank cleaned inside and out then had it painted. I had the seat redone and cleaned and polished the bike. I put some gas in, put a new battery in and the damn thing fired the first time though the diaphragms where bad in the carbs. got those fixed put new tires on and a new speedo and it has been running great since. I have had Larry Lilly motorcycles work on the bike as they still have parts for it. Yes! I checked to see if they had any paperwork to show this is the bike I purchased and no they don't. The tank and seat are perfect as are the tires and rims. the ears and front light still have the original paint. the cables are original and still work though they are showing there age. Since I believe this is my bike it has been in the desert in California its whole life so no rust other then some very small surface rust around a couple of bolts here and there. if it is my bike it has never been in the rain. It has always been garage kept. I really don't want to sell it but I am finishing a restoration on a car that I have had for a long time. I was lucky enough to have the gentleman who is currently working on it do the work but I only have until February 7th as another car is coming into his shop so mine has to be gone. I do reserve the right to take the bike off the market if I find another way to finish paying for my car. If you have any questions please e-mail me and I will do my best to answer. Thanks for looking.
