Vehicle Detail
1967 Pontiac GTO- Originally a 335HP 400 C.I. Factory 4 Speed, 3:55 Posi Blue/Blue car. Manual Steering/Brakes. Have PHS Documentation. I recently purchased this car for restoration, but just picked up another project that i’ll be working on first, so have decided to list the GTO for sale. I try to be very thorough in my listings for vehicles because i’ve been victim to clever photos and poor descriptions in vehicle ads before. We all know that you can do whatever one wants with whatever you get, but i’m approaching this listing of a description as for what it would take to do a very nice respectable restoration. Basically car sat in a bard for 18 years with a window cracked, and critters chewed on all the soft parts. very, VERY solid core needing sheet metal work and a complete interior redo- I do have the PHS documentation for the car that goes with it. If you don't mind doing the sheet metal work and want a 67 GTO, this is the one. Ive done a couple cars now, and in my opinion if the core areas of a body are solid... The rockers, roof and floor structures, firewall and trunk are solid- hanging the other sheet metal on goes well, and alignment stays true, with good gaps in the end. This is that car. The Bad: Needs both lower quarters Needs Partial Trunk Patch, or perhaps a trunk floor. It’s been patched before…(poorly) and could definitely be salvaged…Just depends on what you feel is best with your skills. Needs a tail panel patch around the thin areas of the tail light. *see pic - wouldn’t NEED an entire tail panel- but- again, you’re the judge of what you would do. I’d put a 1 piece complete floor in it, but you COULD do just the front pans/ patch rear. Needs drivers side inner rear wheel well repair when quarter work is done. Car looks to have thrown a wheel in it’s life, and there’s some separation in where the quarter attached to wheel well area. Nothing you wouldn’t have to do when replacing quarter, but… i hate not knowing in listings. There are a few other small pinholes in the trunk- but it's not terrible. Small ding in trunk lip above tail light. some body filler in lower passenger front fender. probably doesn’t need a patch panel, but it comes with one. The core of the interior is there… but an army of raccoons have eaten, or taken a bite out of everything soft inside the car. f it’s not made of metal, assume it needs replaced. this looks FAR worse than it actually is, but the interior is a complete chewed up mess of sadness. The Rear Seat Back is missing, but the bottom is there. Needs a steering wheel- The Good: Factory 4 Speed Car, with original Muncie M21 in good shape with hurst shifter- pedals are all there and correct- shifts easily/no cracks broken ears etc. Original 3:55 Posi still in car with tags- Great Hood with Pontiac Hood Tach Great Trunk Lid (other than mentioned dent) Doors are great- open and close Solid little surface, or no rust Roof is great - one or two tiny dings from walnuts or something. Frame is Great/ Solid no holes, and I REALLy looked for them. Rockers are GREAT Glass is all good- even windshield Firewall/lower windshield area is solid/great where they usually rust Original Radiator is good - All around the front and rear glass are solid/no rust where their usually is.(pillar posts, and sail panels) All moldings are present/good Bumpers are driver quality, maybe a ding here or there- but great cores- never appears to have been hit All the dash gauges are there/ wiring seems decent and present the grills are suprisingly good/no broken mounts or plastic- will clean up i think Car now has a 455 in it, that rotates, but has been sitting for years without proper care- would need gone through, but would be a good core. Car rolls easily brakes are all intact and hasn’t been all modified and butchered. It DOES have some 70 ladder bars on the rear, but no big deal there. Suspension is all intact. Hope I've done a decent job of describing it for you- If you have any questions, please feel free to call-or text 330.495.3756I require a paypal deposit 24 hours within auction close- and full payment within 7 days, or when car is picked up. I can deliver within a few hundred miles for a fee. I'll work with you on whatever you need to help, so long as you let me know in advance.
