Vehicle Detail

With BMW coming out with there R90S tribute bike, I had put this one together. The basis are a 1977 BMW R100RS frame and parts with a 1976 R90/6 motor. All the frame and electrics are from the RS with the motor being a 90/6. Bike comes with 2 tanks both painted in the same 1983 R100RS color scheme. The larger tank (currently on bike) is a fiberglass aftermarket tank from Germany. I am not sure of its make or history as I acquired it in an estate sale. The other tank is a standard BMW metal tank from the 77 RS. The bike has a couple of modifications. It has EBC rotors with new pads, Sibenrock 1000cc pistons and cylinders, dual plugged heads done by Tom Cutter, Dyna dual coils, Dellorto 40mm carbs, new switch gear, CC fork brace and upper triple clamp, YSS rear shocks, Zero Gravity light smoked windscreen and a Euromotoelectrics Optical ignition system. The wheels where rebuild with stainless steel spokes by Woodies wheel works and have new tires. It comes with a set of Krauser bags with all the keys, an original hand pump and the bike lock. It also has the original full tool kit, a rarity now. The bike has a salvage title due to when the bike came from California, the law states that if you replace the motor, it changes it to a salvage title. The bike had most of its work done at Ozzies BMW in Chico. Bike was originally owned by Rick Mayer, the saddle maker. Bike sold as is. It is almost 37 years old. All the lights work and so does the charging system. Mileage is unknown, the odometer shows 12350. I think it was replaced by the previous owner. I would say it is around 40 to 50k. Motor serial number is 4961876. There is a blemish in the paint by the gas filler cap, please look at the picture 01/08/14 I have been told that the tank could be a Hoske tank. I am not sure. All I know is that the tank is fiberglass and holds about 9 gallons. Thanks Being re-listed as it did not sell. It had over 100 watchers last time. The title shows an "S" on the type. This actually means that it is a rebuilt not a salvage as I originally posted. If it was a salvage title, it would have stated "SALVAGE" on it. You can not register a salvaged vehicle in NJ. As you can see in the pictures, the bike is registered as a classic due to the fact that it is over 25 years old. You should not have any issues registering the bike in any state. Ebay will not let change the description once some one bids on it.
