Vehicle Detail

I'll start with the basics. I purchased this car online (sight unseen) as a daily driver. The owner told me the car was original and in good shape other than some issues with the paint. I had it delivered to my house and found that the condition of the car had been misrepresented. It looks good from 20 feet. The interior looks good - it was reupholstered by the previous owner. But when I looked under the car is when it got worse. I don't consider it a driver because of the amount of rust underneath. It is an original car - with the exception of the rear end, which is a 1960's vintage. I appears that everything is here for the body, engine, and transmission. It would make a great led sled, low rider, or keep it original. I have no idea what it would take to bring the frame and undercarriage up to reasonable shape. I don't weld or know a welder so I don't know what it will take to repair it. I can supply pictures of anything not shown in the auction. Just let me know and I'll work on getting them to you. The motor starts and runs but needs to warm up a bit to drive it around. After the engine warms up it definitely runs better. It has what appears to be the original Holley down draft 4 barrel carb. The transmission seems to shift well. The brakes work - I have new uninstalled brake lines that go with the car. The muffler and exhaust on the passenger side needs replaced. I have only driven it about 30 miles - out to get gas and take it to my mechanic. It looks like some body work was done previously with some bubbles starting to show. There is a leak at the thermostat, a small leak somewhere on the motor, transmission, and rear end. The previous owner smeared JB Weld on the brake booster - found out it was a gasket leak on the master cylinder. The gasket has been replaced and all the JB weld removed. Brakes are fine with no leaks now. All the glass looks to be original with no chips or cracks. All the lights work with the exception of some on the trunk, and engine compartment. Gas gauge and temperature gauge works. Radio and windshield wipers don't work. It has Coker radial tires that are in great shape. I have tried to describe the vehicle based on what I can see. I have only owned it a short while and haven't had time to really look at everything. If you have anything specific you want to know, contact me and I'll check it out for you and send pics, if needed. The car is being sold where is, as is. I can be available to help get it on a truck, if needed. It isn't in shape to drive home at this point. Any shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer. $500 deposit required within 48 hours of end of auction, with the remainder due in 7 days. DON'T bid if you don't intend to buy. Don't let your wife bid for you and then back out. Bid ONLY if you are willing to purchase should you're offer be accepted. Contact me with any questions. Good Luck and thanks for looking!!
