Vehicle Detail
1980 Plymouth Gran Fury, Factory Police Package, one year only H.P. 360 Magnum E-58, A-38 Oregon State Police Vehicle. Just in Time for Christmas, Here is a car that rarely comes up for auction. It is one of 3- R bodies that I found on a ranch owned by a gentleman that bought ex- police cars to supply taxi cab companies. Some where during his normal business he stocked up about 40 or so police cars and left them un- touched for years. They have never been titled or driven by a civilian. This car is as sold at auction in 1986. Very seldom do these cars become available in this state of originality. Complete original survivor car. The cars that I purchased were lucky enough to be in covered storage. The paint and interior is original and in great shape. This is a car that can be left as a survivor and is a great driver as it sits. The paint is all original, you can take it to the show car level and have a great low mile one year only rare Mopar last of an era Pursuit car. Here are some of the pros of this car, It does have a factory build sheet under the springs of the front seat, It also has the optional Oil cooler besides the power steering and trans cooler. The State Police re-located the Lean-Burn computer to the other side of the firewall and it does function as it should. It has the certified speedo, ticket light, rubber floor mat, big alternator, full dual exhaust, big front and rear sway bars and super rare bucket seats. The a/c blows cold, it never had a spot light. It did have a light bar when in service and a low band whip antenna that has had the hole filled in and painted. All the police wheels and caps. The original pushbumper is a nice feature and all the bumper surround rubber is intact. This is a known trouble spot for the R-bodies. This car handles and drives great, the exhaust is factory complete including the catalytic converters with grass shields. That being said it does need some attention to some of the following areas. The driver seat has a ripped seam from the butt of the troopers firearm. The passenger seat has a few small seperations as well. The headliner is sagging in a few places and could use a new one. The front bumper is starting to peel a bit. The factory chrome over aluminum never lasted long. The windsheild has a couple small round imperfections, not cracked, more like rock chips. The driver door strap is not factory and looks to have been pulled off and replaced at some point. Not sure when the radio was put in but it does work, All the lights, trunk release, gauges work as they should. It shifts through the gears as it should, it does pull a little bit to the left. Most likely a needed alignment or sticky caliper. Lastly the paint is in driver condition, a detail would do or a respray would look great. This car just needs to be driven and enjoyed and the new owner can decide what level if any at all of resto is needed. I will add fendertag pics before the auction end. As always the 30 plus year old cop car is being sold as is so ask what you need to bid to win. This is a now reserve auction.!!! Happy Hoildays. On Dec-28-13 at 15:37:23 PST, seller added the following information: More under carriage pics have been added. Yes I do have the title and all the documents needed for the transfer. Thanks for looking.
