This auction is for a 1974 Volkswagen Standard Beetle. We purchased this car as a father/son project to build a car for Cruisin’ the Coast, a local car show that brings in over 7000 cars for a week long show. We had a blast building it and cruising it during the show and now it is time to move on to the next project. It has excellent styling with the Mulholland body style from Creative Car Craft, one of the premier aftermarket body specialists in their field. The front fenders feature integrated ’74 Chevy headlights. The rear fenders feature integrated taillights from a ’71 Vega. Very cool stuff. This car has been gone through and most everything reconditioned. Including: New brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses, metal lines, and master cylinder. New wheel bearings and seals. It has four brand new tires with less than 1000 miles on them. Empi eight spoke wheels. Shaved bumpers and turn signals. New fuel tank, sending unit, lines, filter and pump. New running boards. New voltage regulator, starter and battery cables. Sony tuner. New carpet. Clutch and transaxle were both serviced. This car runs, drives and stops great. The electrical system works as it should. We were running out of time and I didn’t have time to replace the spare tire well, it is rusted out due to someone leaving a shirt and a quart of brake fluid to leak into it and sit. The panel is available from Airhead parts for $20. The seats all need to be recovered. The floor pans have been repaired. The engine is a good strong single port 1500 that has the dog house oil cooler added for the larger fan and better cooling, but it leaks a little oil (rear seal). We painted it flat black to give it that rat rod feel. The body is straight. I brings attention everywhere it goes and is a blast to drive! We have thousands invested in parts and untold man hours. The fenders are 1 1/4" wider to accommodate the wider tires on the front and rear. It handles so much better and drives with much better surety on the road. It makes an unbelievable difference in the drivability of a beetle. Should have been done at the factory.
