Vehicle Detail
I purchased this bike over 10 years ago, ridden it more than 14,000 miles and I believe that I am the third owner. I believe the mileage to be accurate as shown. The date of manufacture of this bike is August 1978 and while it looks somewhat stock, the bike has a lot of non-original pieces in it. For example, the fuel tank is from an earlier model CBX that was painted by Dick Gunderson of Columbus, Ohio and there is some pinstriping on the front fender. The bike is ready to ride and I will guarantee that the bike will draw a crowd wherever it goes. The carburetors were rebuilt by Cincycycles earlier this year and they remain perfect. Although I believe this bike is not a show bike, it did win the first place prize in the Mild Custom category at the Capital Cities Bike Show earlier this year. Some of the non-original parts: Dyna ignition, wires and coils; Pipemaster exhaust system; Progressive fork springs; Works Performance shocks; chrome cam cover, alternator cover, oil line covers, clutch cover and advancer cover; stainless steel brake lines; 530 chain along with 18/40 sprockets; Dynojet Stage 1 Jet Kit; drilled front and rear brake rotors; Pingel fuel petcock; Randakk's carburetor isolators and clamps; Pistol Pete's restored gauges and new right and left handlebar switches from Z-1 Enterprises. I have thoroughly enjoyed the bike for all the years I have owned it. If the new owner rides it and keeps it as well maintained as I have, the bike will last forever. Also, the bike comes with the original tool kit, the 1979 riders manual and I will give the winning bidder a front and rear wheel for a 1979 CBX along with a 2X helmet and the first place trophy. More pictures are available and please ask any questions you might have. I might help with shipping depending upon agreement with the winning bidder. Good luck to all. On Nov-24-13 at 05:16:42 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to add - in addition to the above the bike has a 1982 CBX 5-row oil cooler and a fork brace and a correction - the helmet is a 2XL.On Nov-27-13 at 16:13:10 PST, seller added the following information: A question was asked if more pictures of the tail and the tank could be posted and I have added 7 more pictures to the fold. The paint on this bike really stands out in the sunshine, but in the interest of all bidders, I took them indoors with a flash. Sunshine really gives the paint its justice due.On Nov-29-13 at 13:02:52 PST, seller added the following information: Attached 4 more pictures of the tank and tail. I hope all can see that there are no dents on the tank and there are no cracks in the plastic tailpiece and there are no cracks in the side covers and front fender as well. All six tabs in the side covers are in excellent original shape. Other items - the bike has always been garaged, with the exception when taking longer trips when for overnight purposes, it was covered with an Exigent cover. I changed the oil (Castrol GTX 10-40) and installed 6 new NGK D8EA plugs at 24,714 miles.
