1979 Toyota long-bed Pickup truck, 20R engine with 141k mi. Bench seat, 4-speed stick shift, standard steering (!), camper shell. Solid compression, excellent acceleration, easily goes 75 mph on the freeway while getting 20 mpg. Always passes the smog test and actually beats my '01 car on fuel efficiency, torque, and all around acceleration and speed. The mechanics are rock solid and have been maintained diligently: S.a, 141k on the engine - ~24k miles on clutch and transmission, and Michelin tires. 15k miles on brakes. Starter, alternator, cables, plugs, timing chain, fuel pump replaced about 10k ago. ~5k mi ago, shocks and bushings. Battery is 2 years old with full Costco warranty (i.e. any issue whatsoever, 100% replacement still) - Costco service on tires, also, Michelins, substantial tread remaining with high life expectancy. New (just done) ignition switch and rotor - only issue the truck ever had were tough start-ups, remedied permanently; what remains is the fuel gauge - old motorcyclist habit has always had me keep track of mileage anyways, thus I never bothered replacing it. Anything beyond that is cosmetic. For optimal disclosure though, the rear hatch does not lock and one of the camper shell's side windows is missing. A turn signal lens is cracked and fixed via tape (part no longer available). All dings are work related, no accidents! There is a cd player in the cab but the face plate is missing. It is strictly a work truck, gritty as they come - definitively not a take-out-your-date truck. Parts are excellent, the motor is outstanding, and the long bed a hard thing to find. The state gives a thousand dollars for any vehicle turned in. This truck has been running solidly for decades and has been taken care of properly for everything that keeps it running well. It is well worth its asking price, significantly more in parts. The state of California pays $1,000 for any older vehicle turned in, and this truck is too valuable to be turned in - it still runs excellent and has the rare longbed that allows transport of 8ft lumber etcetera. So, if you don't worry about aesthetics but want the most reliably built, solid and least expensive to maintain long-bed truck out there, do contact me. I am proud of this truck. I have had it maintained by the same mechanic for the last ten years, I can put you in touch. I can't drive a bench seat with standard steering anymore d.t. physical disability - been holding on to this truck for much longer than warranted, it is time it got back to regular work, where it belongs and excels. I have had this truck for ten years, bought it from a lady who had used it to travel with her child for many years. She had purchased it from family, apparently the original owners. Upon request I will gladly provide more pictures and/or video of the engine running. I recommend uship for anything non-local, buyer is responsible for all arrangements and cost of freight - I'll gladly coordinate with the shipper to facilitate. I have purchased vehicles out of state before and each time have fared well with uship as a cost effective and good-to-work-with option. I prefer postal money order - vehicle may ship once funds have cleared.
