Vehicle Detail
Just when I thought I won't be able to find a nicer car than the last one....BAM! 2 owner serviced car and it shows! BEAUTIFUL BLUE 2000 S40 with all the goodies. ALL the boxes were checked on this one from the dealer!! Super well kept and properly maintained vehicle. LOW miles. Search around on eBay, you won't find nicer. I assure you, this is the one!! I have nothing to complain about on this car. The outside sports an easy 8+ out of 10 in appearance. Minimal scuffs, a handful of dings and if you look below in the pics, you will see only one typical tiny rust area. The hood and roof look great. Headlight wiper arms are still intact. Bumper covers look great and aren't tore up. No signs of any major bodywork or repairs. Even the vinyl trim looks awesome! Just pure beauty. Have a professional detailer buff the car and it's a 9 all day. Matching Yokohama tires on every corner have decent tread of 70+% left. All ride on smooth clean damage and vibration free rims. There is a little fading in the inserts of the wheels, but they still look great! Paint shines nicely even without the professional detail. Just yours truly giving her a proper washing. NOTE the power antenna even works!! Below you can see the typical rust spot on these cars. Why? do you ask?? For whatever reason, Volvo decided to cheap out on the mudflaps here, unlike EVERY other car they've ever made, the 40 series never came with em. I sanded the area down and touched it up to help protect it better. Sorry for the mismatched paint. I will happily announce the interior as a 9 out of 10!! I hate smoke and can't see or smell an ounce of former smoker!! Even the cig lighter is spotless!! Leather looks amazing with minimal wear on the driver's bolster. Steering wheel looks amazing. No cuts, rips or tears to be found anywhere with only minimal stains on the driver's side carpeting. Center functioning armrest looks great as well. Below I tried to get a shot on the mildly cracked windshield. Looks as if some dummy let the wiper arm SMACK down on the window without the blade on it. Crack is across the LOWER portion of the glass and as you see it. Nothing in the way of vision. A lil birdie told me that most good car insurance companies cover this sort of repair at no charge...or so I was told ;-) Above you can see ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup as they should with only ONE randomly appearing..the CHECK ENGINE light will come on then off. The code is for the Variable Valve Timing solenoid. Upon inspection I can see the new solenoid and updated gasket along with a capacitor in the wiring. This is a sign that one has been properly chasing the problem. These cars are VERY finnicky with throwing this code. You can start the car in a wrong manner and the light will pop up. Then 2 starts later it will go off. ALL the power items work as they should: windows, heated seats, power driver's seat, climate control with ICE COLD AC and HOT HEAT, info panel, transmission modes, cruise, locks, sunroof, AM/FM/CD player, etc. EVEN the cupholder works!! Car comes with one key and one working keyfob. Sorry, no floormats. Unseen is the complete spare tire setup intact and aired up for your drive home! The heart and soul of any reliable Volvo...the properly serviced engine compartment! Below you can see the recently replaced timing belt tag with over 50k to go until the next replacement date. I removed the spark plugs for inspection, cleaned and reinstalled. Fluids are all clean and proper. Recent battery is STRONG and starts the car easily. Engine runs perfectly with no noise or (typical) vibrations thanks to yours truly installing a NEW upper motor mount that was worn. Nice and smooth. These cars are notorious for front strut issues but it all looks to be recently replaced as the car drives nice and straight with no unusual wandering or pulling. Brakes are strong with yours truly freshly installing new rear rotors and new ceramic pads. Fronts are recent as well. No pulsing or grinding. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. No spots on my shop floor overnight. Transmission shifts as it should. Turbo spools up nicely. I've even replaced the exhaust flexpipe underneath. Notice the original factory engine compartment covers are ALL intact and in place!! Like ALL my vehicles, this car is a true ready to go vehicle!! INSPECT my excellent feedbacks!! BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind with the thought of buying off the internet. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Nearly ALL my car auctions are NO RESERVE. Absolute sales every time. There is no benefit for me to end auctions early. I do NOT "show" my cars while they are listed and only the winner of the auction gains access to vehicle. I simply don't have time for people's schedules, giving directions, waiting around, tire kicking and lowball offers. BID TO BUY, if you don't, another surely will! Venue of sale is Will County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 7% sales tax, $101 License Plate fee (or $25 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. ALL COOK COUNTY (Chicago area) BUYERS responsible for 8.25% sales tax. There are 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax (AZ,CA,FL,HI,IN,MA,MI,SC)....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. I have a $500 deposit within 24 hours posted because if you are bidding, you should be in the position to pay. Variations can be made on a case by case basis but Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). If you need to fly into the state, please use O'hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW) then utilize the super cheap transit system into Chicago to the train stations (Union or LaSalle St). Then ride a commuter METRA train from Chicago into Joliet's Union Station. These trains run about every 1.5 hours thru the day. Total travel cost is about $10 and a couple hours time. HUGELY less than my cost of time, fuel and tolls to come get you. You can find the schedule info online Metrarail.com. If flying isn't your thing, and you have more time than money, try Amtrak.com and get yourself into Joliet, IL Union Station. I will pick you up for free in Joliet!
