Vehicle Detail

1950 part car, was a hardtop from San Diego when I bought it back in 1993, but since then I have found a donor convert parts car that I have started to graft into the rear. Also included is the rear half of the car that was a show car modeled after Harley Earl's Cadillac LeSabre. This car was displayed at the 1951 New York international auto show and has appeared in a 1951 Motor Trend Magazine which I will include What is missing is the rear trunk lid. This is a project or parts car so please bid accordingly. Included is also what was a good running Big 6 that is sitting in the engine bay but has not run in over 10 years. This car was stored inside all that time, that is why the floors are so good and also because it was a So Cal car when I lived in San Diego. In response to some questions: The bullet in the back was a custom job and a Cadillac bumper was used as well. It was all done in lead and each fender weighs about 70 lbs, same for the trunk lid. I bought the whole car back in 2004 when I was looking for a convertible top assembly for my Commander that I brought back from San Diego. I bought the convertible custom commander back in April 2004 off of John Bena in Mechanicsville NY. (Near Saratoga) He was an elderly gentleman that had a large collection of cars. According to him this car was built by his brother as a custom job back in the early 50's and was Displayed at the New York International Car show back in 1951. He said his brother died in 1975 but provided me with a copy of the picture and cover of the magazine which it was in. I found the magazine on ebay and bought a couple of copies. It was in such bad shape from sitting in a swamp that I just salvaged the rear section as well as the windshield frame. It took a couple of years to get all of the parts needed but I think I did get them all. The good thing about my car is that the lower rear quarters are nice and can be welded to the custom rear at the bend line. Hope this answers your question. And yes that is a front disk brake set up in one of the pictures. All the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the "Make my wife happy foundation." I can be reached at night EST at 401-710-9536. Thank you Gary
