Vehicle Detail
You've been wanting a super clean low mile 3 series car for some time now. It HAS to be black with black leather. All the ones you found weren't even close....until now. Your search is over. I don't know why nor do I care, but this car hasn't been used very much over it's lifetime. 73k legitimate miles since 1994....nearly unheard of in today's eurocar market. If it were another 10 years older, it's be considered a Barn Find!! I've had the car for over a year myself with plans to keep it. Barely even moved it except to circulate the fluids and keep it clean. But..I have enough toys in the toybox...Time to go!! The car is beautiful in so many ways. Minimal body issues. ALL barely noticable. The body shines nearly new but could still use a professional buffing to uncover it's beautiful luster. Exterior is easily an 8 out of 10. No signs of any major body work or repairs. Please enjoy the detailed pics below! Matching tires are all 80+% treadlife on super super clean vibration free rims. There's not even any brakedust stains or damages to the wheels. Minimal lip dings and zero curb rash. Only thing cleaner is new! Below the hood and roof look great displaying minimal typical rockchips on the hood. Sunroof operates perfectly. Above, as you may be familiar....typical door edges are prone to rust on these cars. This one no different. BUT!!! Only the corners were bubbled with NO RUST underneath the door lips or any further than surface. I simply sanded the handful of areas down and touched up with proper matching BMW issued touchup paint. Unless you get down on your hands and knees or get right up on them, you can't see the spots. Another wheelwell bubble area sanded and painted above. Rear bumper cover looks great. Trunklid is great with only a small bubbled/sanded/painted area below the license mounts. Again, NOTHING underneath, brittleness, flakes. etc. Above is the last of the larger areas on the corner of the door about the size of a half dollar. Below is a shot of the inside lower edge to show there is no rust to be found underneath. Note the VIN tag still visible with no overspray or tapelines. NICE and SOLID. Below if you look hard enough you will see the one Frankenstein stitch holding the lower portion of the bumper cover lip together(this side of the license area). Someone had already drilled holes, I simply re-attached it so that it appears correct from a distance. NOTE!!! The perfectly clear plastic NON-FADED headlight lenses. They look new as the day it left the showroom!! Driving lights work, one bulb is out. The interior is gorgeous!!! I HATE smoke and it still smells like a well kept BMW interior!! No signs or smells of a former smoker. Easily a 9 out of 10. Minimal, if any, driver's bolster wear. NO damages, tears, holes, rips, etc in the leather to be seen. Steering wheel looks great. Carpet looks great. Headliner is beautiful. Center armrest looks barely used. As you can see below, ALL the dummy lights illuminate as they should upon startup. Unfortunately, since the car has been sitting, the TRACtion/ABS/Brake wear lights have popped on and stayed on(front brake pads look new, rears will need replacing in the near future). As you may be aware, the wheel sensors get gummed up with debris over time. The fix is to pull the sensors, clean and drive or possibly reset the ABS codes (which I don't have access to a proper machine). You can also just try a reset instead. I just do NOT have the time to do the job. MY LOSS, YOUR GAIN! NO RESERVE, remember?? Either way, the lights are now on and I PROMISE on my life, they were NOT on last year. I've logged 200 miles on this car to ensure it's reliability with no issues other than the AirBag light staying on for 3 mins then shutting off. Above you can see the light is off. I honestly have no other complaints about the interior except that I don't have the radio code (installed a new battery but the radio DOES work) and the shifter is a bit stiff probably from sitting, but works as it should. ALL power items work as they should: power windows, locks, cruise, sunroof, heated power seats, climate control, A/C was ice cold over the summer but it's 40 degrees now-you can hear the pump operating and feel temp change, transmission modes, lighting, etc. All functioning properly for worry free operation! Note the info panel works perfectly with no pixel issues. Car comes with 2 working factory BMW keys. Full size spare is aired up for your roadtrip home!! Complete factory floormats are nice. Toolkit seems to be complete. Engine compartment is super clean. Newer battery fires the engine right up and it runs perfectly. You may have noticed above that there is a nice stainless steel muffler installed. Not the "ricey" kind but a proper sounding muffler. Super nice exhaust note without the crappy buzz. This motor sounds great under acceleration!! No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. No overheating. Transmission operates as it should. Brakes feel nice and tight with no pulsing or grinding. Will throw you thru the dash if needed. Suspension is tight with no noises, squeaks or rattles. Car sits correctly with no sagging and drives smooth and straight down any pavement with no unusual pulling or wandering. Fluids are clean and ready for many many years/miles of operation!! Gorgeous inside and out, top to bottom. Inspect my excellent feedbacks. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!! BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! 2nd owner title in hand. NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! UPDATE: As stated, I ALWAYS drive the cars I sell to ensure their reliability. ALL of my drive time was earlier in the summer. Literally the other day, I took the car out to stretch it's legs a bit. Being 40 degrees out, I noticed that the engine temeperature didn't really come past a 1/4 on the gauge (should be dead center about 1/2). Letting the car sit at idle made it go to normal after a bit. But then a drive after showed the temp slowly dropping back to 1/4 again. This is indicative of the thermostat needing to be replaced. I AM INCLUDING A NEW THERMOSTAT for you to get replaced at your earliest convenience. The car has heat and the level is proper. You can drive it anywhere but it will need to be done ASAP. I just simply do not have the time with everything on my plate here at my shop. MY LOSS YOUR GAIN NO RESERVE!! Thanks for your understanding. I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind with the thought of buying off the internet. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Nearly ALL my car auctions are NO RESERVE. Absolute sales every time. There is no benefit for me to end auctions early. I do NOT "show" my cars while they are listed and only the winner of the auction gains access to vehicle. I simply don't have time for people's schedules, giving directions, waiting around, tire kicking and lowball offers. BID TO BUY, if you don't, another surely will! Venue of sale is Kendall County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 6.25% sales tax, $101 License Plate fee (or $25 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. ALL COOK COUNTY (Chicago area) BUYERS responsible for 8.25% sales tax. There are 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax (AZ,CA,FL,HI,IN,MA,MI,SC)....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. I have a $500 deposit within 24 hours posted because if you are bidding, you should be in the position to pay. Variations can be made on a case by case basis but Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). If you need to fly into the state, please use O'hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW) then utilize the super cheap transit system into Chicago to the train stations (Union or LaSalle St). Then ride a commuter METRA train from Chicago into Joliet's Union Station. These trains run about every 1.5 hours thru the day. Total travel cost is about $10 and a couple hours time. HUGELY less than my cost of time, fuel and tolls to come get you. You can find the schedule info online Metrarail.com. If flying isn't your thing, and you have more time than money, try Amtrak.com and get yourself into Joliet, IL Union Station. I will pick you up for free in Joliet!
