Vehicle Detail

1999 BMW 328i Sedan for sale I am a dealer and i have just started up the venture with one of my friends. It's still hard to even consider myself a dealer since i've been buying and selling cars all my life it seems. This car was at the local auction about a month ago and i just had to have it. I thought i knew most everything about the car and didn't look it over as well as i should have and now it has become a project i just don't have time for. A little back history on the car. I personally bought this car about 2.5 years ago from a guy in Kansas City Kansas. I found it on craigslist and we struck a deal. Drove up 4th of July weekend and bought it and drove it back. It drove good and made it all the way back to Arkansas with no issues. When i bought it the back tail light lenses had fallen off that are in the trunk, so i quickly glued them back in with some liquid nails. You can still see some of the white caulk inside of the lenses, but not too bad. I drove the car about 1800 miles before the throw out bearing went out. I had a good friend that had a car just like mine and traded it for a Toyota that blew up the next day, so i ended up selling it to him and helped him put a new throw out bearing in. The clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bearing all seemed to still be in good condition, so we only replaced the throw out bearing with about 203k miles on it. He only kept it a little while before trading it to a girl in Harrison. While he had it he changed the corner lights out and put some 17 inch wheels on it. When i saw the car at the auction it was the first time i had seen a car that i had previously owned for sale again, so i just had to have it. I still drove the same except it made a horrible clunking like sound when i put on the breaks like something was dragging. I then topped off all the fluids when i got it back to the shop and noticed the water was low, so i kept an eye on it while i drove it home. not 8 minutes from the shop, it starts to get a little hot. Needless to say the water pump was bad (top hose was hot and the bottom hose was cold). I then hauled it back to the shop. I changed the water pump with a new one with the metal propeller. Filled it full of water and got all the air bubbles out. Both hoses were warm and it idled for half an hour on jack stands without any leaks and the needle stayed right in the middle. I figured i had fixed it. Drove it and it started to get hot within a few minutes and i could see some water leaking out. So i filled it a few more times getting all the air bubbles out and it still leaks and gets hot after a little bit. It looks like it's coming from the expansion tank and the cap. I can't afford to put any more time in it. I do not know how hot it got running through the auction or by the previous dealer or owner that had it. There is no water in the oil and no water coming out of the tail pipe, so i don't think the head gasket it blown, but it very well could be and i just not know or even a cracked head. I don't want to go replacing the whole cooling system and it be something even bigger. I will be taking a loss on the car if it sells, but it's better than just throwing money at it trying to fix it without really knowing anything about mechanics. More about the car. The rear driver's outside door handle does not work. Both rear windows don't roll down. Tear in the driver's seat. Sunroof cover is gone. Sunroof leaks i think. Front bumper is damaged and really needs replaced at some time. Radio is messed up and speakers sound horrible. No spare. Trunk carpet is greasy. No tray over the battery. Faded on the back seat tops and tray over speakers. Plasti dipped e46 17 inch replica wheels. Tires are decent but one leaks down after a while. The sound when braking i think is just the clips off the new front brake pads, but not 100% sure. Check engine light was pulled out. Scanned it for codes and came up with a thermostat reading every once and a while. New water pump. NO thermostat just the housing. HID headlight bulbs on low. interior trim painted green to match the car. shift knob but cant remember the brand, maybe UUC. Car is mostly all stock Car does need to be towed and car is being stored inside. Will need a deposit with 48 hours of auction end and prefer to be paid within 10 days. Can hold and store the car if need be and mail the title once it's been paid in full. Also please only bid if you have a feedback star and willing to go through with the purchase in a timely manner. If the car does not sell i will sell the engine and transmission and do a v8 swap over the winter, but really need the money to pay for bills. Will try to answer all questions to the best of my knowledge. Welcome to come inspect the car before auctions end
