Vehicle Detail
1983 Porsche 911 SC Would make a nice fun driver with some work!!!VIN is WP0ZZZ91ZDS101532 which is Euro spec!!! (ZZZ) and was imported and has had a Nebraska Title since we have owned it (Title in hand) I have had this car since I traded locally for it in 1997. The car came to me with 106,000 miles and in nearly the exact condition it is in today and at the time came with a "Previous Salvage" title. This could mean one of many things earlier in its life, It could have been stolen or in an accident with a sufficient insurance payout to warrant the designation. Whatever issue it had prior to us acquiring it in 1997 is unknown but I personally drove the car for about a year putting approx.13,000 miles on it with no trouble or unusual driveability issues whatsoever. It handled great, it was quick, and definitely very fun to drive, (the air even worked back then.) There was never any damage to the car during the time I have owned it and whatever caused the "salvage" designation must have been taken care of. We are not expecting this car to bring TOP DOLLAR as many Porsche sellers are wanting, nor should you expect to ever get top dollar due to the salvage designation. The hope is that someone can actually have an affordable fun driver. I stopped driving it nearly daily when one day it failed to start. Our shop mechanic (I owned a used car lot at that time) checked it out and told me the electric fuel pump had gone bad and would have cost at that time around $300 for the part. (may be cheaper now not sure) I made the decision to put the car into indoor storage with my other classics/collectibles with the intention of someday doing a mild restoration and modifications to the car. That was about 1998. Time has passed and that "someday" never came. My goals back then were to fix the few body issues (small amount of rust, some scratches/dings, clear coat peeling, cracked fiberglass near rear side window) add a tail, do widebody modifications, repaint it red (didn't like the original blue) and have the seats/interior recovered/dyed in black, mechanically I would have left it alone other than fix the fuel problem. I have since gotten out of the car business and changed careers and do not have nearly as much time to invest as I have projects to complete. If you win the auction on this car I want you to be aware that you are buying a car that needs some work. I believe this car has great potential to be an economical fun driver, but it has sat for 15 years (always stored inside) and you should expect to check over everything on the car prior to assuming it is roadworthy again. At a bare minimum you should at least go through the brakes/calipers, check all seals and gaskets for leaks from dry sitting, clean fuel tank and lines, replace the battery, oil and spark plugs, you should replace the tires even though they look fine they are at least 16 yrs old, and other things to make sure its safe to drive. If the car doesn't meet reserve I will likely do a paint job (same color for simplicity) fix the fuel issue, do a tune up, have the seat repaired, check everything over and put on new tires and sell for A LOT MORE MONEY in the spring (snow is coming soon in Nebraska)If the car meets reserve and you are the high bidder, you will be responsible for picking up the car or for arranging and paying for your own shipping. I will be happy to help you find a shipper (as I have a few contacts in that business) and will help them load the car but you will be responsible for all shipping costs/expenses.I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event of a local sale only prior to reserve being met. I am obviously selling the car in a non running, completely AS-IS condition, with ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEES OR WARRANTYSerious buyers only may email with questions. Please include a phone number and preferred times to call if you would like to speak with me in person.Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end time and Must pay in full within 48 hours of auction end time by bank transfer or wire transfer or cash in person. Must pickup or ship within 10 days.
