Vehicle Detail

1996 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – LOW Miles and Excellent Condition Miles (at time of posting): 49785* This is a beautiful car, with lots of extra equipment. You can see many of the items, such as the Edelbrock name on the air intake and the K&N sticker in the engine compartment. The red “Corvette” lettering on the engine is an after-market add-on that I did, and it will stay with the car. This vehicle has been adult driven (by me, only!) and is housed in a heated garage when not on the road. It is a weekend driver, and not a daily unit. I have driven it to work (on beautiful days) but park far away from other vehicles. There is only one defect worth mentioning on the body, and that is a slight scratch on the right rear fender. You can see it in the third picture I’ve posted. I can’t get a better shot with my Nikon D90 (DSLR) camera, that’s how hard it is to see. I suspect some dunderhead cut the corner too close and scraped the car. Of course, they didn’t leave a note and nobody saw anything. It’s so new that I’ve not had time to repaint. That’s one reason I’m lowering the price. My bet, with a good wax job (which I had planned to do before putting it up for the winter) it will likely be even harder to see. I purchased the Black special wax for the car, but have not gotten around to waxing it with the next wax. The car has active manual seat belts with driver and passenger inflatable restraint system. The seats are leather, sport models (extra cost – see below) and have a slightly different shape than the base model seats (you can find the difference in the catalogs or online). It is a black paint, black top, with black interior. I am normally a black on black on black kind of guy, but this car just grabbed me … that’s how beautiful it is. It has the LT1 5.7-liter Multiport-Fuel-Injection (MFI) Chevrolet motor. The pictures show how clean I keep the motor area and how can help give an idea of how well I maintain it. I put brand new high output plug wires with Bosch spark plugs in the car this spring (less than 1000 miles). It also has almost brand new tires (less than 1500 miles). It has Power Driver Seat (original cost $305), Power Passenger Seat ($305) and the Leather Sport Seats ($625). It also has the Low Tire Pressure Warning System ($325) and a factory installed Compact Disc Delco-Bose ($396). The reason I am selling it is for medical conditions. I am being forced to retire with severe Kidney disease from medications taken to treat both Osteo and Rhemutoid Authoritis. So I’m selling those toys that I simply have the most trouble getting into or out of. I currently use a walker and the doctors say I will be in a wheelchair within the year, so there’s just not much room for it in a ‘vette. I wish I could say I was selling it to buy a new Corvette, but that would be a lie. In fact, I like this car so much I had never planned to sell it, just start a nice collection. Oh well ... my loss is your gain. I’m including 20+ pictures with the listing and the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value. The individual sale (one person to another) through KBB is about $3k more. I’m also including the NADA numbers from onlline so you can see the prices for yourself. This is the wholesale numbers. My reserve is well under these numbers. I’m more interested in the car going to a really good home (even at a lower price) than trying to hold on to it for a couple months while I make a few thousand extra $$$. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I generally answer ebay email within 24 hours. If you want me to call you then leave a phone number in a private message. I will not allow a “test drive” but if someone is close I will give them a ride in the car. Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with pickup or delivery. Because of the age/mileage I am unable to give any type of warranty. I can assure you, though, that this car runs really well, all lights, electric windows, etc. are in working condition. The top, as you can see, is in great condition for both the material and the frame. The carpet is in very good condition no holes; however, the driver’s side embroidered “Corvette logo” on the floor mats is wearing, so someone will probably want to buy new mats pretty soon. * I do not expect the mileage to go above 50k before sale. I do not plan to drive it much simply because I’m selling it and plan to keep miles low. On Oct-15-13 at 06:40:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to add, in response to question, I purchase vehicle from dealer. My reserves is only $7500, too. That way, by revealing this I'm making full disclosures. I'm taking a loss, but I simply can't enjoy the car because of my health. I've bought and sold enough off EBay I know how volatile the market can be, but at the same time you can pick up a real deal. This is definitely that type of sale. And it is "spoke" with first owner, not " woke." ;-)
