Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Due to death in family and relocation to smaller place, (I need my garage), I am selling my classic car. This '62 Buick Electra 225 Riviera hardtop sedan has benefited from an extensive interior restoration to bring it show standards. (Won 3rd place for Best of Buick's in Route 66 Motherdrive). The car is nicely broken in and ready to go. The paint on the car is good showing a couple rock chips in the paint with one notable imperfection to speak of; a spot of rust on the hood, smaller than the size of a dime (see last pictures). This car has had several owners prior to me purchasing it in 2005, as evidence by the stack of paperwork and receipts that accompany it. Owner I bought it from did extensive mechanical restorations in which the motor and transmission were both said to be rebuilt by prior owner, (he provided me with all the before and after pictures). This car came with and still has cherry bombs in the exhaust. In 2006 I had the rust taken out of all 4 doors and repainted (have receipt). In 2006 I had the interior completely redone. In 2008 she received new tires, new shocks, and this year I had her her accelerator float in the carburetor replaced and her oil was changed. This car is loaded with stainless trim and bright work that looks great. A full-length bright strip crowns the upper body ridge, while the tower rocker molding and wheel houses are accented with bright trim. This car shows an extremely straight and solid body with no signs of accidents or damage. The car has been garage-kept since 2005. The car is laser straight and looks great in black. Both front and rear chrome bumpers in great condition. Repainted in 2006 when purchased from prior owner. Inside, the interior is white and wheat Seats, door panels, and kick panels. White headliner, and brown carpet with original dash all look great with no wear or damage showing. The car retains its original AM radio which does not work but an AM/FM CD player was installed by prior owner. Power steering, power brakes, power seat and after-market 60's A/C that will freeze you out (needs charged). Under the hood, the 401 Cu In V8 runs great and starts with no issues. The car went through a full mechanical restoration On the road the car drives as good as it looks. Very straight and has plenty of power. The car runs great with no smoking. In the trunk, you will find a full size spare as well as a jack. All four tires on the car are 4 years old and the rims are baby moons (original rims in car trunk). Fender skirts also come with the car. The underside is very solid. This car can haul up to 3-4 people in the font seat, and 4-5 people in the back. The trunk can hold 11 bodies. :)Mileage is unknown as the engine was rebuilt by prior owner. Odometer says 00999. To be honest, I never paid attention to the odometer until today. This car is being sold on a clean Illinois title showing this owner has had the car since 2005. This car is being sold *AS IS.* If you are or have someone in the Springfield, IL area, it can be shown and driven, just send me a message through Ebay. Please be kind with your questions as I am a female and really know nothing about engines except for what my mechanics tell me. Payment: Deposit of US $250.00 within 48 hours of auction close. Immediate deposit required for Buy It Now. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. Shipping and Delivery: All shipping charges are the "Buyer's" responsibility. On Oct-06-13 at 08:57:58 PDT, seller added the following information: EDITED TO ADD: Someone messaged me asking why I started this car off so low if everything was working and she was running fine. Once you witness death before your eyes, and you see how much stuff the departed takes with them, (nothing), it gives a whole new meaning to 'possessions.' My husband and I each had a classic car which we enjoyed going to car shows together. Since he is no longer here, even if space and finances weren't an issue, the joy has ceased; I have no desire to drive around alone in her. I will never get out of her what I purchased her for and put into her, but I am okay with that. God will provide. And in the meantime, someone will win a truly lovely car who can go 80-90 all day on the highway. And maybe they'll enjoy and be lulled by the hum of her engine as much as I was. This car was a gift from God...for a time. Now it's time to pass that gift on.
