Vehicle Detail

For sale I have my 1980 Subaru Brat GL. I bought this little Brat a year and a half ago from a guy selling it in Colbran, Colorado. Colbran is far west in the state which equals hot climate. She has very little rust which is the most important thing when buying these old girls. 136,800 original miles confirmed by a 32 year mechanic. When I got her she was not in the best shape. Fenders needed to be replaced, engine ran poorly, no exhaust, the front valance was smashed, corner and taillights smashed etc., and no rear seats. I considered her what she was and that is a project car. So I began what was the most ambitious project to date for me. 18 months later I have a Brat that is worth far more than when she started out. This is a generation 1 Brat which was made from 1977-1981. This one is a single range transfer case so she only has 4WD high. It is shift on the fly like modern cars and is FWD when not in use. The EA71 (1.6 liter Boxer) engine and 4-speed transmission have been removed and completely re-sealed/rebuilt. Everything except pulling the pistons was done with all OEM parts and gaskets! Yes, if you look hard enough you can still find all the parts. Plates expired in May but I have title in hand free and clear. There will be no issues with the title. If you want to drive it we can cruise the neighborhood. If you want to drive it home that would be at your risk and I would want the plates mailed back to me. She starts and runs strong!!! Not a leak to be found!!! Here is a list of what I have completed. She is an old girl but I gave her so much love and a new lease on life. Many are saying that I need to "finish" the project but I am basically not able to anymore. I am selling her to assist with purchasing a truck for my second job. That and I have a 7 month old who can't ride in it. This is not a ready to go drive across the country Brat. The engine and transmission are, no questions in my mind, but there are still the items listed above and I am not stating she is perfect. I am an honest person and do not lie so if you discover something I missed I apologize now. There is no form of warranty implied herein or otherwise. She is as is. For those in the market and hobby you will know what I have done to this Brat. I have invested over $3000 in parts and spent hundreds of hours making her what she is now. I understand that I will never get back what I put into her but the brand new parts alone are worth over $2000. This is a rare Brat and she is almost 100% and restored. Cash only no trades or other offers. $500 deposit through Paypal is required within 48 hours of auction ending. The remainder of the balance will only be accepted as cash or certified cashiers check within 7 days. Send me a message if you have any questions!!! Thanks. Jon
