Vehicle Detail
This tan beauty has seen enough of the beach and is ready to move on. When she joined me less than two years ago, she just had her carb rebuilt and new rubber shoes installed on her original rims. There are NO CRACKS in the dash which looks new. The houndstooth vinyl seats are excellent except for tear in drivers seat. This is NOT a beat up work van but a nicely kept leisure vehicle that is great to restore or used as a weekend hauler. I have performed the following recent major enhancements on her: new wiper blades so she can see better through the tearsnew front brakes and water pumpnew universal jointscomplete tune upoil and filter changed every 3000 miles She graciously carried two kayaks and two bikes from Baltimore to Siesta Key, FL and enjoyed nine weeks of sun and frolic at the nation's best beach. The guys were really checking her out, but she remained true to her mission. The trip down and back was 2200 miles and she loved every minute of her trek. Her engine purrs mightily and might not be the original and might not be a 5.7 liter, but she runs very strong and burns no oil. Her paint is good but she has a few rust throughs on the body. Her frame is solid and she does show her age of 35 years. Her spare tire tire still has whiskers, which causes her some embarrassment. Her openness is refreshing and her bed is carpeted. Dual exhausts with chrome tips get all of the bad stuff out of her system. I have never asked her to pull anything, but she is wired and has a class three(3) hitch and could allow a trailer behind if asked politely. Her cruise is under control and she just had a fresh oil change. No one believes that she has travelled 151,xxx in her lifetime and she still carries me to work everyday.I hate to say "Good Bye" to her, as she has served me faithfully and well, but she is ready for new adventures and I am too old to please her anymore. Can you please take care of her for me? I loved every minute of my time with her. If you purchase this vehicle at the Buy-It-Now price I will include new window channels for driver and passenger doors and a set of BF GOODRICH Silvertown tires that came off of a Rolls Royce that have very little wear on tires and are designed and look "old style." The window channel is very high quality material and would likely be more than enough to repair the current window channels that need replacing. I really believe the Buy it Now price offers an extremely good bargain for the astute shopper who actually reads ads and supplements to ads. I can send pictures of the tires if you want. VIN plate says it is a 350 cu in. I am not sure if it is a 5.7 L or 350 Cu. In. The engine runs so well I believe it must have been rebuilt or replaced. It does not seem to have 151, xxx miles on it. It does not smoke. The carb was rebuilt. On a scale of 1 to 10 for vans of this vintage, the lack of frame rust and paint condition would score it a 8 or 9 in my opinion. The rust throughs on the body are easily repairable. If I keep writing about the good stuff I might change my mind about selling, so I will quit. Please feel free to call me at 443 226 oh four oh two to take a look at it or to pose your questions. It has a class three hitch and is wired for towing. I have never towed with it, so will not warrant that all the wiring is correct for the towing, etc. This would be a great weekend hauler to the beach, car shows, motorcycle events, etc. I am only selling it because my wife is very sensitive to heat and refuses to travel in an un-air conditioned vehicle.
