Vehicle Detail
I LOVE these ONE OWNER properly maintained vehicles! Here's another reason why I love the safest most reliable cars in the world: http://www.snotr.com/video/11870/What_does_it_take_to_kill_a_Volvo (Click on the link above!!) The exterior is in great condition. Easy 8+ out of 10. I can count on one hand they amount of dings I found and there are absolutely no dents. ZERO visible rust. I'm no bodyman but I don't see any signs of major body repairs. Mostly just touched up rockchips. The front bumper cover is nice save for some touchups, chips, and some typical lower parking block rash. No cracks or holes or damages. Hood and roof look great. Tires are all matching with excellent treadlife left. Fronts look nearly new while the rear display some dry cracking. All ride on nice rims that are the 15" variety for cheap future tire replacement. As stated, the hood and roof look great! One minor issue and it's very common on these cars...the sunroof. Altho it operates fully, the passenger side front arm (replaceable) is broken so it pops up a hair from wind pressure. No, it doesn't leak. No it wont come flying off. I've logged over 200 miles on this car to ensure it's reliability and have had it on the highway several times at 70+ MPH. Just a little wind noise is all. This top was the same on all the 850s, I believe. Finding a donor in a junkyard will be the easiest part. Trunklid looks great as well. Power antenna is stuck as usual, but the motor operates. $14 for a replacement mast from Volvo. Radio tunes in fine. Rear bumper cover looks decent with some white touchups but has a biff crease. Someone probably backed into something. It's only noticable standing over it looking down. Right rear tailight lens has a red lens patch. Notice the license plate bracket isn't all rotted out! Interior is nice but has seen better days. Easy 7 out of 10. A professional cleaning will easily turn it into an 8. No damages to the leather or anything. Just some scuff stains on the glovebox door, here and there. Like someone kept bumping their shoe on it. No holes or rips to be seen in the leather. Driver's bolster looks great. Carpet is nice with minimal stains. Steering wheel is barely worn. ALL the power items seem to work as they should: HEATED power driver's seat, cruise, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, hot heat, windows, heated mirrors, transmission modes, dual climate control, sunroof, AM/FM radio, etc. As you can see....there are ZERO dummy lights on during run and ALL the lights illuminate upon startup as they should. As stated, I've logged over 200 miles on this car and the "Check Engine" light has never illuminated for a problem. A few stains in the trunk carpet. Factory floormats look great. Unseen is the nearly unused spare tire aired up for your roadtrips. Altho the lug wrench is there, the factory jack is not. Here's the meat and potatoes of ANY properly serviced vehicle!! SUPER clean engine compartment!! Pick a spot and eat off it! BRAND NEW TIMING BELT installed!! How do I know besides the tag?? I'm the one installing it! It was perfect timing since the car was on it's second belt. PROPER servicing puts it's replacement at about 75k prior. It's not dryrotted enough to be it's original belt. Recent battery. Recent brakes. NEW coil w/module, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Engine fires right up and runs perfectly. No noises. No overheating. Oil and coolant are clean. Air Conditioning is ICE COLD and will freeze your face off. Transmission shifts as it should. Absolutely no signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Brakes will throw you thru the dash if need be. Suspension is tight and noise free. Rear shocks look recently replaced. Car drives straight and smooth with no unusual pulling or wandering. As you may or may not know, the ABS/TRACtion control units fail on these. At Volvo, it's an $800 replacement part...the SAME part that fails in the first place (bad internal soldering on the circuit board). I properly fix them in about 20mins. I have fixed this unit since it had the typical ABS/TRAC lights on when I picked up the car making this car justlikenew2u!! This car is ready for years of worry free driving. Inspect my excellent feedbacks. This car is ready to go. BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind with the thought of buying off the internet. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Nearly ALL my car auctions are NO RESERVE. Absolute sales every time. There is no benefit for me to end auctions early. I do NOT "show" my cars while they are listed and only the winner of the auction gains access to vehicle. I simply don't have time for people's schedules, giving directions, waiting around, tire kicking and lowball offers. BID TO BUY, if you don't, another surely will! Venue of sale is Will County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 7% sales tax, $101 License Plate fee (or $25 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. ALL COOK COUNTY (Chicago area) BUYERS responsible for 8.25% sales tax. There are 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax (AZ,CA,FL,HI,IN,MA,MI,SC)....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. I have a $500 deposit within 24 hours posted because if you are bidding, you should be in the position to pay. Variations can be made on a case by case basis but Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). If you need to fly into the state, please use O'hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW) then utilize the super cheap transit system into Chicago to the train stations (Union or LaSalle St). Then ride a commuter METRA train from Chicago into Joliet's Union Station. These trains run about every 1.5 hours thru the day. Total travel cost is about $10 and a couple hours time. HUGELY less than my cost of time, fuel and tolls to come get you. You can find the schedule info online Metrarail.com. If flying isn't your thing, and you have more time than money, try Amtrak.com and get yourself into Joliet, IL Union Station. I will pick you up for free in Joliet!
