Vehicle Detail
Here's an opportunity to buy 100% genuine 1966 Mustang GT, factory 'A' code V8 with 4bbl carburetor, full GT options {PIO-Performance Image Options} including dual exhaust and hangers with reinforcement plates, bigger sway bar, highly sought after 16:1 quick-ratio steering manual gear box , correct 3.00:1 rear end gear, factory C4 automatic, Kelsey Hayes manual front disk brakes with correct master cylinder and proportioning valve, Pony/Luxury interior. Car is undoubtedly genuine GT with all the features present on the car. On top of that the car still features, remarkably, the assembly-line tag, {so-called 'buck' tag} with the coveted 'PIO' options on it along with everything else. This little tag is almost never present on the car. This GT has it and it's very very rare to have the PIO options listed on it. This is truly special car, investment grade collectible. On top of that, the car is very well done. IT NEEDS NOTHING, let me make that very clear from the start. The original motor and trany have been redone and resealed top and bottom.. Entire drive train is extremely smooth and documented in video. I've had about 20 Mustangs and this is the easiest car to drive. Extremely tight in all aspects. Very well preserved to begin with, carefully restored. No, this car is not nut-and-bolt restoration but in my view, good preserved examples DO NOT REQUIRE nut-and-bolt restoration! Work done this summer includes new paint {2 stage base/clear, PPG - have ¼ gallon can left for touch ups}. New radiator, new styled steel wheels with new BFG tires, new plugs/wires, new rear/front main seal, new oil pan gasket, new intake gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new brake pads and brake lines, alignment, new door panels, new carpet, rebuilt vintage carburator, new heater core {old one leaked and warranted floor panel patch by previous owner - see end of video for undercarriage footage} ... All in all, if I have to use one word to describe the condition of this car it would be TIGHT. All panels are original and show factory stampings clearly as the car was repainted just once. Hood, fenders, doors, trunk, inner fenders, frames, floors etc are all factory original. There was/is no body work or damage anywhere on the car. All lights, gauges work. All lock cylinder work. Radio was upgraded with dual speakers in the back. Car is clean and ready to enjoy. I can't stress enough the condition of the car -it needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately. Starts right up cold or warm, runs smooth in all gears, brakes as it should. Suspension is very tight and car is steady. Long story short, this is a car that was very well preserved by the one owner from '66-2013, has been stored in dry garage it's all life and has no rust anywhere. Car comes with clear title and valid registration till 2014. This car WILL NOT NEED ENGINE/TRANY REBUILT. IT WILL NOT NEED REPAINT. IT WILL NOT NEED NEW INTERIOR. IT WILL NOT NEED NEW BRAKES, IT WILL NOT NEED ANY RUST REPAIR OR BODY WORK. IT WILL NOT NEED NOTHING FOR THE FORSEABLE FUTURE,MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT. YOU BUY IT AND DRIVE IT, THAT'S IT. INVESTMENT WISE, THIS CAR WILL DO VERY WELL BECAUSE OF IT'S ORIGINALITY AND THE DOCUMENTATION THAT'S PRESENT ON THE CAR. VAST MAJORITY OF GT'S DO NOT HAVE THE BUCK TAG WHICH IS THE SAME OR BETTER AS BUILT SHEET. IT MAKES IT BULLET PROOF AND VERY VERY RARE TO HAVE, GUARANTEED. WHO EVER BUYS THE CAR WILL NOT HAVE HEADAKES, JUST SMILES FROM DAY ONE. IT’S VERY PLEASANT AND PERRFORMS EFFORTLESSLY IN ALL ASPECT. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING:WITH EVERYTHING STATED ABOVE, THE VEHICLE IS USED CAR AND COMES WITH NO WARRANTY, SOLD AS-IS. IMMEDIATE DEPOSIT OF $500 IS REQUIRED AFTER THE AUCTION END. REMAINING BALANCE TO BE PAIND OFF WITHIN 3 DAYS VIA CASH OR BANK WIRE. THE CA PLATES STAY WITH ME SHOULD THE CAR SELL OUTSIDE OF CALIFORNIA. THANKS FOR LOOKING. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES AND WATCH THE VIDEO - all footage is from 9/13- 9/15/2013. I’VE DOCUMENTED THE CAR THE WAY I’D LIKE IT TO BE DOCUMENTED IF I WERE IN YOUR SHOES. HARDLY ANYONE DOES SUCH A JOB AND YOU SHOULD KNOW ALL THAT’S NECCESARY WHEN BUYING CAR SIGHT UNSEEN. IT’S ABSOLUTELY SOLID IN EVERY ASPECT AND WILL MAKE NEW OWNER VERY HAPPY J Update on 9/19/13: Lot of you ask me this and I wrongly assumed most people are familiar with Mustangs... when I say '100% genuine GT' I don't mean the car has every last bolt on it installed from factory {being 48 years old, it would hardly look new as it does. I am talking about all the coveted GT options that were installed from factory - they are in place intact and the car is as genuine a GT as they come PLUS it has something that vast majority of GTs DO NOT HAVE - the buck tag. Now, wear-out items such as suspension, exhaust, seat covers, carpet, chrome trim etc, have been restored/replaced to factory specification. With the exception of upgraded exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, upgraded radiator, shock tower brace and rear speakers the car is exactly what came off assembly line in November '65. All 'A' code cars are noticeable better drivers than 'C' code Mustangs. With the GT suspension and GT-exclusive HCC AX manual steering box they are way better drivers and this particular GT is prime example of that. . For international buyers that have shown interest - I'm perfectly capable helping or even arranging shipping to anywhere in the world. Have shipped to EU and Australia and prices quoted are +/- $1250 port-to-port {EU and all 3 ports in Australia} plus insurance. I'll note that with many GT's going out of the country, they're becoming that much more valuable if they stay in US. I'm getting a lot of emails and will answer as fast as I can.
