Vehicle Detail
50 Ford Custom Deluxe Tudor (Hardtop), Landau carriage - faux convertible top, 302 Engine, newer synchronized 3 speed, radials, new shocks and brakes, dual exhaust, leather interior, power seats. Drives good, sounds good, no smoke, good power, 2 barrel, clutch works perfect, 12 volt, Lexan side glass, rear windows are removable for a hardtop look (hardtop wasn't available till 1952) Paint looks good from 20 feet away but has a lot of sand scratches and primer shrinkage close up (maybe wet sand/clear coat buff? Or just hot rod black it) Body is really straight and solid, I tried to capture the paint in the pictures but couldn't. Engine runs good with plenty of power and doesn't smoke but is just an old used engine, it has some lifter noise when decelerating, probably a little wrist pin noise and perhaps even a little main noise, all of which you would never know if not for the uninsulated tunnel modification which seems to amplify the engine compartment noises, it holds 20lbs oil pressure idling and 40lbs driving down the road, carb is just a stock motorcraft, exhaust is tight and sounds good. Clutch, Transmission and Drive train is in great condition and works well, there is a slight vibration at 55-60mph which seems to be a slight imbalance of the drive-shaft, but could just be a tire. HAGERTY: " For 1950, Ford worked out many of the noise and handling issues found in the first-year cars. Trims were renamed Deluxe and Custom Deluxe. The club coupe was dropped from the Deluxe series, and the convertible was now offered only in V-8 Custom Deluxe spec. New to the lineup was the Crestliner, a Custom Deluxe Tudor that added special elements above and beyond the regular model, including two-tone paint and a unique canvas-covered roof. On Sep-17-13 at 09:25:35 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is driven nearly every day, it does not need any major body work, if you want it pretty it can easily be flat filed, orbital or hand sanded on the sides and reshot in a day by an experienced painter
