THE HISTORY The Porsche 911 Carrera has only 33,993 miles on it... that's practically brand new !!! The VIN is wp0aa29991s623511. It was assembled in in Germany and imported into the USA in June of 2001. It was sold Brand New by Braman Porsche in Palm Beach Florida on July 26th of 2001 with just 18 miles on the odometer. This one and only original owner kept the vehicle normally serviced at the Porsche dealership. In May of 2013 and with only 33,484 miles on the odometer, this original owner decided to reduce the number of vehicle he owned and I was offered the oppurtunity to purchase this 911 Carrera from him, which I did, and I offered it for retail sale at my dealership. One of our service customers saw this 911 sitting at our store and fell in love. On May 18th of 2013, this 911 had it's new owner. This owner had us correct the IMS bearing issue, install a brand new clutch, and do a full service on the vehicle at the time of purchase. After enjoying this 911 for a few months and only putting on approx 500 miles, in late July of 2013 this second owner decided to purchase a 2004 911 that we had for sale and traded in this 2001 911 to us. I am proud to now offer this 911 Carrera for sale here on eBay. THE CONDITION The overall exterior condition of the vehicle is very good. The vehicle looks absolutly great for its age and mileage although some very minor surface scuffs/scratches are evident here and there. The paint is deep and glossy. The rear engine air intake vent has some minor clear coat fade. The interior shows very little wear. The leather looks very clean and is free of any tears. The carpeting is plush and clean. The dash and door panels are in great shape. Some of the rims have some minor curb rash. The vehicle has a high end sound system installed in it with MB Quart crossovers, JL Audio amps, and JL Audio subwoofers. We have no idea if they are functioning perfectly or not (we are not stereo guys) but the sound is amazing in the vehicle so they probably are working exactly as they should. The tires on this Porsche are Michelin Pilot Sports with approx 70% of the tread life left. I have two master keys, the owners manuals, the original window sticker (water damaged from original owner having an a/c leak in his office), and the carpet floormats. IMS BEARING The failure of the IMS Bearing is a well known issue with the 911's of this year range. When this bearing fails, which is a random occurance and without indication, it typically damages the engine so badly that the entire engine needs to be replaced or have extremely extensive repairs. Porsche developed a procedure that can be done to the vehicle to correct and prevent this from happening. Anyone who buys a preowned 911 or Boxster that falls within the year and VIN range affected by this IMS bearing and does not have knowledge of this issue being already corrected or does not have the correction preformed runs the chance of having an IMS failure at any time. As preventive service, this correction procedure was preformed on this 911 and the IMS bearing should not cause you any issue and you no longer need to worry.
