This is a no reserve auction for a rust free California car. This 1970 Volkswagen Beetle has a very clean original pan and is very solid underneath. This 1970 Volkswagen Beetle was ordered with several unique factory options which it still retains. Factory installed rear window defroster, (has has the blue light in the gauge cluster and on-off switch under the dash) Has front disk brakes which perform very well, rear/side windows that pop open for fresh air, and the very rare and desirable factory hand crank sunroof that opens and closes flawlessly. There is also a gas burning heater installed in the trunk that looks hooked up but its working condition is unknown. It is ducted through the firewall and is hooked to the gas tank. The model number is unknown but judging from the scarcity of this heater, it appears quite rare. All of the lights function as they should, turn signals, hi/low beams, interior dome light, tail light and license plate light and gauge cluster light. Fuel gauge functions and is accurate as well Even the dual circuit brake light comes on when the lens is depressed indicating proper circuit function. This 1970 Volkswagen Beetle was ordered factory radio delete and the panel that covers the radio opening has not been cut or altered. There is a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo mounted in an enclosure under the dash hooked to 2 Pioneer speakers mounted in front of the doors. Has a very nice Grant aluminium steering wheel as well as an upgraded gear shift selector.The interior has been updated and has very nice seats and a full carpet kit. the Headliner is intact and looks decent as well. There are two small holes in the rear seat bottom. Has an original spare tire and nice chrome rims with new chrome caps. Tire life in my opinion is around 65%. This 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Is a good daily driver with no bad habits or noises. It does not leak or burn oil, starts up easily and shifts nicely. The aluminium running boards really look sharp and are a wonderful upgrade to this vehicle. All in all a very nice classic Beetle with no rust or rot anywhere and will make it's new owner very happy upon arrival. This 1970 Volkswagen Beetle is currently on non-operational status with the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles and has no back fees due. And of course there are no liens or other hidden fees due when the new owner transfers title. For 1970, the Volkwagen Beetle was available with a new engine -- the 1600 four-cylinder air-cooled engine, which provided 57 horsepower.
