Vehicle Detail
1974 Ford F100 4x4. 390 Big Block V8 rebuilt approximately 10k miles ago. C6 Automatic transmission, limited slip rear differential, lock out hubs, brand new 33"x12.50"x15" Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 tires ($1100) on 15x8.5 vintage slot mag wheels. A fifth slot mag and a 33x10.50x15 Super Swamper is mounted in the bed as a full size spare. The truck runs and drives well and gets surprisingly good fuel economy, we recently took the truck on a trip to Prescott, AZ which was 220 miles round trip and the truck got 14.9mph at 65mph on the freeway. The odometer reads 34301, which we would believe to be 134301, the title is from 2005 and lists Box B - in excess of mechanical odometer limits as the odometer only reads five digits. The title is signed and notorized open and ready to go for the next buyer. The truck has an aftermarket power steering system that was converted to cross-over steering, braced, and beefed up by Four Wheelers Supply in Phoenix, AZ and the truck turns beautifully with one finger on the wheel. The interior is original, new carpet and dash pad were recently installed, the seat is a burgundy cloth bottom and original tan vinyl back both firm with no tears or major stains. We have a new in the package tan pattern Saddleman seat cover, never installed it but will include it with the sale. The horn button is missing and the radio is an old factory style am/fm knob style and does not work. The truck was originally an A/C truck but it does not have the underhood parts, but could be converted back if preferred. The truck does have an oil leak, we degreased and pressure washed the underside, we originally thought it was from the oil pan area, but after cleaning found that the back side of the drivers side valve cover is leaking and the oil runs down the back of the motor. We personally don't care for the chrome valve covers, and had planned to replace with a finned aluminum set and new gaskets but just can't find the time. The truck starts easily and has a manual choke to use if needed. The truck was painted by the previous owner within the last few years, though it was a quick spray, there are a fair amount of dents, and dings all over the body that were painted over, one spot where the paint peeled on the passenger front cowl above the hood which had later been retouched by the owner. As with most Arizona vehicles the paint on the center of the roof is pretty baked as well, but not noticeable when standing next to the truck, unless you play in the NBA. Overall the truck does look good though, gets lots of compliments on the paint color and we would describe it as a 10 to 15 footer, meaning from that far away it looks really good. Not a show truck, but a great looking driver, that has the look that a 70's 4x4 should have: Slot Mag Wheels + 33" Mud Tires + west coast semi truck mirrors + stock otherwise = plain and simple no nonsense 4x4. *** We are also including with the sale and vintage 1971 Suzuki TC125 enduro which was used by the previous owner as a run around pit bike. It is a two stroke, four speed, with additional high and low range, eight speeds total. It is currently locked in low range and will run up to 25 mph approx and the owner used it for running around camp and at the races. It was painted to match and it has a signed and notorized open title as well, and will be included with the sale of the truck! *** We can assist with shipping and know a local private transport company, who just shipped a similar truck from Phx to Dallas for $750, and they do a regular East Coast run as well, shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but we can connect you two if desired. We can also assist as needed if you were to fly into to Phoenix with a ride from the airport if needed, the truck is in Avondale, AZ on the west side of Phoenix about 25 miles from downtown. We have additional pictures of the truck, if you would like any other info we can be reached at: westcoastmags@gmail.com We are listing with a low opening bid, no reserve, please only bid if you intend to follow through with the sale. If the truck doesn't sell, we would be rather happy to keep it also as its just a cool truck, but we are building a building for our business so some additional cash to work with would be helpful. We would request payment within seven to ten days, and can store the truck for a reasonable time while shipping or transport is arranged. If you have any other questions please ask, and Thank You! *** Some was admiring the truck recently and said "this is the type of truck Steve McQueen would drive" and we think they are probably right. ****
