Hello to all ebayers, PLEASE READ!!!.....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 2 door coupe 350/automatic. The bidding will start at a VERY FAIR starting bid...and as with ALL automobiles I list on ebay, the Camaro comes with NO hidden RESERVE!!! AND I ALWAYS SHOW UNDERCARRIAGE PICTURES!!! The '69 is probably the most recognized iconic Camaro ever manufactured, this one originally came off the assembly line in the beautiful original Body Color Code of Glacier Blue,...which corresponds with the number 53 PNT on the trim tag. Please check out any and all VIN/trim tag information for your own edification. Two websites of great interest that decode the numbers are;... http://www.chevy-camaro.com and http://www.camaros.org/diffs69.shtml#FNm I personally found the first site more helpful and straight forward,...and there may be other sites of interest and informative. Furthermore according to my research, the trim tag breaks down as follows;...ST 69 being the most obvious as it represents the Model Year 1969. The Model number 12437 on the trim tag stands for coupe,............if the number was 12467 it would represent convertible. TR 715 is the Interior Trim Code and stands for Blue standard, if it was 716 it would be Blue custom. The number 06A is the Build Date and breaks down as follows 06-June,...A being - 1st week of the month,...All "X" cars were manufactured later in the model year production run, thus this Camaro was manufactered the first week of June, 1969..........as non "X" cars were manufactured earlier in the production run. It should be noted that this '69 Camaro came equipped with the 4 wheel drum Brake set up, and has factory Power Steering also. According to my research, NO SS cars came equipped with 4 wheel drum brakes,.......in fact, just because a Camaro is an X11 car DOES NOT necessarily make it an SS,....BUYER BEWARE!!! It's seems to me that there are more SS and Z28 Camaros this day and age then there ever were in 1969, say nothing about RS's, Copos and Yenko's!! Once again,...according to my research if a '69 Camaro was originally an SS from the factory, it came threw with a bare minimum MANDATORY of front disc brakes,........as I found in my research that ALL '69 Camaro SSs came equipped with front disc brakes, no exceptions!! If someone claims that their '69 Camaro is an SS BUT DOES NOT have factory front DISC BRAKES...BUYER BEWARE!! This '69 Camaro has the usual rust issues associated with all '69's that have been exposed to salt, snow and moisture for an extended period of time. I've personally seen better,...and I've seen a whole lot worse too!!! The floor pans need 1/4 pan replacing,...as with the trunk floor area also needing attention/and full pan replacing in my opinion, (see the pictures). Also needing replacing is the structural floor/spring brace on the drivers side due to the fact of it being rotted off and gone. Because of this,...the leaf springs have come threw the trunk floor on the drivers side. The sub frame is solid, straight and solidly attached to the unit-body and has never seen any collisions. The rear frame rails are partially rotted and need attention too, (see the pictures once again). The rockers are extremely solid on this '69, as it appears on most other '69's with rust issues,...looks like GM really made these heavy duty in the day and/or galvanized them. The rear quarters need replacing in my opinion, or at least the lower half of them. One of the gas tank straps rusted/broke off (on the drivers side) and I wired the tank up in place for safe transport. All glass is in place and in excellent condition, the passenger door shuts fine without dropping. The drivers door drops some due to tired door pins, but definitely shuts without an issue. BOTH DOORS ARE EXCELLENT ON THE VERY BOTTOM WITH NO RUST ISSUES/.....JUST SURFACE RUST/...(SEE PICTURES)! The hood and trunk lid are straight, solid and close well with no rust issues. The dash and steering column are original and complete as seen in the pictures. Everything I mention here can be seen in the photos, as it is obvious that the exhaust needs replacing and is completely gone. The tires are pretty decent all the way around, two of them on the passenger side slowly leak air and go flat in 10-14 days,...tread is real good, surely a little sealant ("fix-a-flat") would do the trick. The chassis is completely free-rolling and has no locking, dragging or binding issues. I've owned the '69 since back in 2003 and when I purchased it I did not receive any keys what so ever due to the fact that the then current owner lost them and the Camaro had been sitting for some time. I had the best of intentions for a complete restoration but due in part to lacking the time, funds and slow economy I've decided to sell,...hopefully the next owner can do the '69 justice with a full professional restoration. 1969 was the first year in Chevrolet passenger cars for the locking steering wheel column,...not having the keys I/you just can't steer the '69 obviously. BUT, recently I professionally bi-passed this issue temporarily for the new owner with out cutting, chopping or modifying!! I pulled the steering wheel with my steering wheel puller and simply duct-taped the spring lock mechanism in the column in the down position so as it does not engage the lock wheel,...then replaced ALL parts in chronological order so the '69 can be steered/moved around until the lock is either re-keyed or replaced. As I said, all locks/switches/parts are in place and just need new keys cut, or locks replaced at the new owners discretion, including the trunk lock, which is in place too,...just no keys. Additionally, the steering works easily with no issues, you'll notice in the pictures that the original steering wheel was replaced with a small custom sport wheel as was the trend/fad/custom once-upon-a-time. Speaking of trends/fads, you'll also notice the "wall-to-wall" carpeting that was once popular,.....I mention this because the original door panels and dash pad are underneath all the carpeting. I would say it's a safe bet that the engine is non original/non matching numbers engine due to the fact it has the blue color engine paint that was a GM "staple" in the '80's, and it has what looks to be an electronic distributor cap set-up. Like I said, I've owned the '69 since 2003 and with to many "irons-in-the-fire" I've never even got around to trying to start the '69 much less anything else. The man I purchased it from said it ran strong and went real good, but stopped using the '69 due to the fact it would no longer take an inspection sticker in this state. According to the air cleaner housing with the original GM decal, the engine was manufactured October of 1977, of course the air cleaner could have been changed out (?) I've not been able to verify exactly what the engine is or is not,...the engine stamping on the front of the block reads TO8O1DNW. Other than what I was told years ago I can't verify anything regards the engine and it may be stuck or not??......being a clutch fan, there's no way to turn manually,.........and with no keys I never tried "hot-wiring". Regards the transmission, I really have no idea if it's original or the condition either. The rear end is the 10 bolt variation, and is probably original, but I don't know for sure. The interior is all original (less the carpeting) and 100% complete,...for those '69's out there receiving restoration I would think it would be hard to find the original seat springs and hardware,.....research for yourself, maybe I'm mistaken.........regardless, the interior is complete and all there. Obviously the grille is missing but would seem to be "an easy fix". One of the gas tank straps rusted/broke off but I wired the tank up in place for safe transport so there will be no issues. Overall I feel the '69 is quite complete and will make a very worth-wild candidate for a complete and total restoration,......people have started with much better,......but have started with much, much worse also!!! Finally, the formalities; this '69 Camaro does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the '69 Camaro I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the '69 Camaro reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Regardless, I offer FREE LOADING ASSISTANCE to you and/or the carrier of your choice should you hire one. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the '69 Camaro comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INDIVIDUAL STATE. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know as I have a legal document ISSUED BY THE STATE OF MAINE so that you can take this LEGAL DOCUMENT/paperwork to YOUR STATE DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a NEW TITLE in YOUR STATE. I've done this many of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state. I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed ANYTHING or you have ANY QUESTIONS what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's. ********Keep watch,...a lot of interesting older/antique autos (1949-1987) coming in the next several weeks,......and remember NO hidden RESERVE EVER,......AND ALWAYS UNDERCARRIAGE PICTURES!!!..........thanks, Bob.******** On Jul-29-13 at 09:20:46 PDT, seller added the following information: *********UPDATE*********UPDATE*********UPDATE********* I have some additional information that current bidders, future bidders and the new owner of the '69 Camaro just might be interested in knowing. The information I have, I actually had and was going to post Friday 7/26, but the computer crashed before I was able to save the NEW/ADDITIONAL information. Having lost the new/additional information and other items and appointments with customers on my addenda at the time,.....I'm just now getting back to the computer and updating. Until looking at the pictures I took, I didn't even know myself that the flywheel cover was/is missing. So I lifted up the Camaro with the rollback wheel lift and was able to turn the motor over by hand by turning the flywheel,...so the additional/revamping information is the fact that the motor IS NOT STUCK.........as I typed in the description that I thought it might be possibly. I also removed (and re-intalled) 4 of the 8 spark plugs......#2,3,4 and 8 and the plugs were clean and showed normal combustion, with NO fouling, NO deposits or oil buildup,....so the engine shows promise that its good internally and will probably start up without any issues. I checked the transmission fluid and its extremely clean with no foreign matter showing on the dip stick. ADDITIONALLY;........ I was able to decode the engine and find out exactly what it is. As I listed in the description, the code stamped at the front of the engine on the block pad is located immediately forward of the right hand (or passenger side) cylinder head. The entire engine code contains the assembly plant (1 digit), month (2 digits), day (2 digits) and the engine suffix code (1 to 3 digits). To attempt to make this clear the engine suffix code is the 2 or 3 digits at the end of the engine code, suffix being the key word meaning at the end. The engine code is as follows;...TO8O1DNW. The following information was available from the web site www.chevy-camaro.com and additionally my cousin was able to find the same information according to his Chevrolet books on breaking down numbers and codes. The code being;......TO8O1DNW breaks down as follows,...T - (Tonawanda Engine Plant),...O8 - (the 8th month of the year being/August),...O1 - (the first day of the month). The suffix code of DNW is listed as a 1979 Chevrolet 305, 160 HP, 4 barrel version that had 2 applications of either being installed in the Chevrolet Malibu or the Monte Carlo. .....this concludes the additional information I currently have,............thanks, Bob.
