Vehicle Detail
This is a 1970 EUROPEAN MODEL Tipo 10544 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT VELOCE / GTV Coupe. It was delivered when new to France and has the French ID tag under the hood. The VIN AR1368893 corresponds with FUSI for that years production. The odometer indicates 82,420 KMs, but we have no way to verify the mileage. There is evidence that the car was yellow originally. The car has the cool "Flying Buttress" seats, it seems that they are both passenger seats. The dash has a cap that has cracked also. The car sits on 14" steel wheels from later Alfa models. This car is a great driver. Starts and stops and runs strong. It has a pair of Dellorto DHLA 40 carbs. The brake fluid was recently flushed and car stops as it should. It has the floor mounted brake and clutch pedals. Transmission shifts very well with NO second gear crunch! It can be enjoyed as is for this summer and more to come. It will need some bushings eventually. The body has some rust in all the usual places. I had once purchased a 1972 GTV with more rust than this car. I drove that car all year round in the NYC area and the suburbs and enjoyed it more than any Alfa I have ever owned. It took me everywhere in all the seasons, even in the snow. I maintained it mechanically, but never addressed the rust issues. As I said previously, I enjoyed that car for over 5 years. This car reminds me very much of that Alfa, I believe that this is a car that should be driven and enjoyed and it can be without any fear of dents, dings, etc. When was the last time you saw someone bombing around in a GTV? That can be you!I am listing this car for a friend. He had purchased it a few years ago at the request of a client who wanted a GTV to restore with his son. Once he obtained this car for them, they decided they no longer wanted to pursue their objective. It has been sitting in a heated garage since then. The car is currently located in Northwest corner of Connecticut and you are welcome to arrange a visit if you are interested. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange pick up of the vehicle after full payment from its current location. A deposit of $1000. is to be made by PayPal by the winning bidder at close of auction.
