Vehicle Detail
*Sorry to all previous bidders for pulling the auction early, a family situation required my full attention, now resolved and ready to get back to selling this truck. 1958 Dodge W300M Power Wagon. This very clean Power Wagon started out in Florida as a Brush Truck and was shipped to South Carolina about 2 years ago. Two seperate donor frames were considered because its original frame had several weak spots and weld repairs, the body ended up on a 1987 W300 1 ton frame with Dana 60's front and rear. A 318 engine was freshened up with rings and bearings, cam and lifters, aluminum intake and 650DP Carburetor, wrapped hooker competition headers carry 2 1/2" exhaust to race pro mufflers. This engine starts and runs excellent every day, its actually my daily driver. The NP435 Transmission needs to be rebuilt at some point, it shifts fine and has no mechanical issues other than sounding loose and a slight vibration in 3rd gear. The flywheel was resurfaced, a new Center Force Clutch installed along with a hydraulic McLeod throwout bearing and slave cylinder. The NP205 Divorced Transfer Case is fully operational, the front driveshaft is out for rebuild, it will need to be lengthened approx. 2", the rear driveshaft is a brand new tube and slip joint, all u-joints are new except for those in the Dana 60. This truck has had the majority of its mechanical components serviced or replaced. Brakes: new hydraulic lines, new drums, rotors, pads, and shoes, master cylinder is from 87 donor and works fine. Wheel bearings and seals new all the way around. Wheels/tires: 37" Nitto Mud Grapplers on 16" rims, handles very well, pictures are of truck with Weld wheels on, those have been sold. An updated picture of the rims and tires the truck will ship with will be added asap. Suspension: new Bilistein front shocks, rear shocks will need replacing at some point. Front leaf spings were a combination of the original one ton spring packs and aftermarket skyjackers, 3 leafs have been removed for comfort. Spring bushings have not been serviced but appear tight. Steering: New adjustable drag link, new tie rod ends, king pins rebuilt this year, new steering stabilizers, steering shaft and u-joint with support bearing. Bumpers: local scrap yard donations along with fabricating, very heavy duty, rear bumper is 6" channel with oval rubber gromet lights installed. Glass: rear window is fine, windshield has 1.5" crack near bottom of center support column, it does not interfear with driving, Drivers side window and passenger side wing window have cracks but are intact and functional All rubber seals and channels have been replaced. Misc.: Vacuum wiper motors are present but there condition is unknown and they are not hooked up. Front windshield regulator works but will need rebuilding (I have a contact for that job). The floor is intact but could use some minor sheet metal patching to seal up completely, I drive it daily as is. Door weatherstripping is in a box with attaching clips. Shipping: buyer is responsible for having the truck picked up, it is approximately 80" wide and 18' long, weight? God only knows! Thats all I can think of right now, I will add to the listing as needed. On Jul-20-13 at 23:22:41 PDT, seller added the following information:Time is running out. Here is some more information to consider. The title is for the W300M and clear. This truck was purchased for $3300 and the frame was too poor to salvage. The donor frame, a 1 ton W300 frame, was purchased for $1800 and the fabrication and swapping began. Over $10000 has been slowly invested into this project over the last 3 years, it is a costly process, as most of you already know, to put something like this together. I have receipts for most all of the purchases made for this truck and will include them in a binder that outlines the progression from shell to what you see now. The reserve price is very fair for what the high bidder will end up with. For instance, the clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, and throwout bearing alone totaled over $700. King pin rebuild was $250, new rear driveshaft was $300, engine rebuild and aftermarket parts over $1000, rear differential work including new Yukon bearings, wheel bearings new brakes close to $400....the list goes on and on, not to mention the body work, custom bumpers, new fan and radiator, wheels and rims. The folks out there who have built a project vehicle know all too well the money that can be invested into a project and the vehicle still looks like, well, a project! In the end this will be a truely awesome truck, as it sits and drives now its a blast, I drive it daily, I tell people its like driving a locomotive, I cant go anywhere without people wanting to talk about it, you just dont see these trucks around anymore. The bottome line here is if someone is willing to hit the reserve price they will be getting a piece of history that was invested deeply in, well cared for, and more than worth the price. The auction is at ~$4000 right now, the reserve is just around the corner so keep bidding, you will not be dissappointed with this truck. On Jul-21-13 at 12:55:01 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTICE! LOWERED RESERVE!!! NOTICE! ALSO: Added picture of new Rear Bumper and Nitto Grapplers (38x14.5x16).
