Vehicle Detail

1984 Honda Nighthawk 700 S – CB700SC – Red and Black This bike has been fully restored and is probably the cleanest example of this particular bike in the Twin Cities if not the upper Midwest. It recently won 2nd place in the Honda category at the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club motorcycle show. The bike is about 95 percent original to the factory build, and what is not factory are upgrades to make the bike perform better such as Stainless Steel brake and clutch lines for example. Originally the bike had about 16,500 miles on it but then was stored for about 10 years. I purchased the bike about 5 years ago and have been slowly working on restoring it ever since. Since the rebuild I have logged about 1000 miles on the bike with no issues. The bike runs great, and looks absolutely beautiful. This is a fun bike to ride and is very responsive and sporty. There are too many new parts on this bike to fully list and others have been rebuilt and refinished, but some of the main restorations include the following: · Bike completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up with several parts powder-coated including some of the following: o Motorcycle Frame o Rear Swing Arm – includes new labels applied o Front Driver Peg’s – new rubber and components installed after powder coating o Clutch and Slave master cylinder o Front brake calipers o Center stand and side stand – includes new springs and other components o Top bridge and steering stem components o Fuse holder o Handlebars o Rear grab bar o Many other small components as well · All body parts repainted and new decals applied and clear coated over, and then the paint finished with polish and buffed to very smooth. This includes the following parts: o Fuel Tank – includes new decals and warning labels o Left and Right side cover – includes new decals and labels o Front Fairing – includes new windshield and warning label o Rear Tail section – includes new labels o Front Fender (No graphics on front fender) · Complete engine rebuild including new gaskets and seals throughout, a repaint, and a valve job including new seals · Complete rebuild of the clutch system including new clutch lever, powder coating the master cylinder and installing a rebuild kit. A rebuild kit for the slave cylinder and new stainless steel clutch cable, and clutch kit including new friction plates and springs from Vesrah. · Complete rebuild of the front braking system including a new brake lever, powder-coating the brake calipers and the master cylinder, rebuild kits for the master cylinder and both calipers including new brake pads, and new stainless steel cables. · New All-Balls bearings and seals for the front and rear wheels and tapered All-Balls bearings and seals for the Steering Stem, and new Honda bearings and seals for the Swing arm. · New brake shoes and springs for the rear brakes, and brake hub powder-coated. · Carburetors completely cleaned and rebuilt with new gaskets and float valves, and then synchronized once the engine was running. · New Throttle and Choke cables. · New tires on the front and rear, and the both wheels cleaned up and repainted to look new. · New maintenance-free AGM battery. · Starter rebuilt and has been repainted to match the engine. · Engine repainted and all covers polished and re-sealed to factory new look. · Front and rear passenger pegs redone with new components and peg-holders repainted or powder coated and re-sealed to factory new look. · Rear shocks cleaned and repainted to factory new look. · Front shocks and forks disassembled and cleaned, and then reassembled with new fluid and new seals and wipers. Lower sections were repainted and new decal installed. · New turn signals and signal mounts for all 4 turn signals front and rear. · New mirrors, new grips and, and original but like-new switches to make the controls look nearly new. · New UNI air filter. · Original gauge cluster in like-new condition showing original mileage of the bike of just over 17k. All gauges work and there is no clouding of the plastic over the gauges. · Original exhaust installed on bike is in great shape · Seat is re-covered with new vinyl and “Honda” logo painted on back of seat Also included with the sale are the following: · A complete tool kit in like-new condition and complete with all tools as from the factory including a new pouch to hold all of the tools. · An original brochure from 1984 for the Nighthawk ‘S’ in like new condition · An owner’s manual in very good condition and for the 1984 model · A magazine from 1984 that details the bike and has a review and pictures – covers several pages Terms of Sale · I have a clean Minnesota title for the bike and will transfer it to the new owner upon purchase of the bike.
