Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Hello to all ebayers, PLEASE READ.....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1970 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop coupe. Although the pictures virtually speak for themselves...(which is not so good)...it's what's under the hood that has the real value I feel........you may or may not agree, please read on. The engine under the hood is the original numbers matching 400 small block that I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE is the ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!! I would have included a picture of the block pad showing the matching VIN but was restricted by the alternator, heater hoses, ect. regards to taking a picture and just did not want to venture into removing all these items. I have a good friend and long time Chevrolet/Pontiac collector run the numbers and it turns out that the engine is the 265 HP version according to the code. The other set of numbers on the block pad (10C110043) matches the VIN number identically for the lat 8 digits. I have no idea what the transmission really is,...it may or may not be a turbo 350 or 400, I don't know. Being the original numbers matching engine, chances are the transmission is original too, but even then I don't know what the trans is or what should have came with this horse power version of the 400. I don't know what the rear-end is either,...but I would say it's probably original, but not a posi-trac seeing the engine is the 265 HP 2 barrel carburetor version...vrs. the 370 HP 4 barrel version. I've owned the Impala since 2002 and saved it from going to the crusher, obviously for the engine alone. The frame is solid enough to load and unload without coming apart, but not good enough for the road ever again in my opinion. According to the gentleman I purchased the Impala from, the 400 not only ran great, but burned no oil and it only went off the road due to his daughter getting in an accident because of the slippery winter driving way back in 1993. The last time I started the 400 was in 2002 when I purchased it and has been sitting ever since, so it may or may not be stuck now. The oil level is just below the full mark and looks good and clean with no grit or metal showing in the oil. I put a battery in it and it won't do a thing,...completely dead,...and being a clutch fan set up I can't attempt to turn it over by hand. At the time of purchase, I was also told the mileage was original and that he was the second owner having purchased the Impala in 1976. Like I say, the current value of the Impala is the 400 I feel,...but it does have some parts value to anyone out there who owns a rarely seen (if ever) 1970 Impala. The Impala still has the original steering wheel, complete original dash with A/C ducts/vents, all original under the hood including ALL original A/C parts never touched, still has all belts in place! Besides the A/C, the Impala has power steering,...I think that is about it for options. The trunk lid is in excellent condition with minimal surface rust, 2 stainless rear quarter trim pieces come with the Impala with a couple small imperfections along with a drivers side headlight trim ring (note the picture) that's in perfect condition. The tail lights are in great shape with only 1 out of 6 broken. I've stated all that I know about this Impala as factual as possible. Most of you out there are probably only interested in the 400 motor and transmission combination,...and not the rest of the Impala. The auction is for the whole "package"...Impala, motor, transmission, everything you see,...BUT if you only want the 400 motor, or the 400 motor and transmission (your choice)....you can take ALL or part, your choice. Further,...I can pull the motor for you (for an additional fee of $125.00 above the high bid/sale price) or you can pull the 400 your self. I can LOAD the motor for you for FREE or you can load your self,........ALL YOUR CHOICE. Due to the age of the Impala/400 motor and amount of sitting for years, this Impala does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the Impala I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the Impala reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment,...I have a late model Freightliner rollback and I offer FREE loading assistance to you and/or the carrier of your choice should you hire one. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the Impala comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...please check with your individual state. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know and I can contact the state of Maine and they will issue a legal document so that you can take this paperwork to YOUR state DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a new title in your state. I've done this may of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state. I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 24 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's. ********Keep watch,...a lot of interesting older/antique autos (1949-1987) better shape than this coming in the next several weeks..........a 1967 Pontiac GTO 421 Tri-Power 4 speed coupe......in absolute mint condition!!!........Coming on 7/16/13 10:00pm PDT (California /west coast time) OR/ 1:00am eastern time7/17/13,...thanks, Bob.********
