Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a "No Reserve" 1965 El Camino. The engine is a 350 GM crate motor w/ approx. 3000 miles. The previous owner is the only verification I can give as to the approximate mileage on the engine. The induction is via an edelbrock performer manifold w/ a 650 cfm Holley dbl. pumper, hei dist., headers, power disc brakes w/ new pads & rotors, new rear brake shoes, PS, The previous owner indicated that the 4spd Saginaw trans. was rebuilt when the crate motor was installed. The trans does leak when parked. It appears that whoever rebuilt it failed to put sealant on the front bearing retainer bolts. The trans shifts smoothly and shows no signs of any internal problems. The car has a Hurst shifter, 12 bolt open rear diff. w/ new axle seals, newer 2 1/2" dual exhaust. The body does need work and there's rust at the exterior of the rear wheel wells and a portion of the lower quarters. However, the inner panels appear to be solid. There's rust in the area of the "smugglers" box. The interior is missing the door cards, kick panels, passenger seat belt, and some other small items. What interior is there is in fair condition. The floor pan does have some rust pitting/pin holes, but could be salvaged without the needing to be replaced. All the electrical is in working order w/ the following exceptions. The heater motor can't be tested as it's missing the resistor, but the htr. core does not leak. The back up lights need a switch to operate but they do work. The horn is missing (wiring is there) and it needs a new switch. The clove box light needs a new plunger. The dimmer switch works intermittently and would need to be replaced. There's a sun roof installed that needs some small hardware pieces to be complete. The car is mechanically sound, it just needs the cosmetic work done. The rims are 15" Polycast units from a Monte Carlo w/ fair tires. A spare rim/tire of the same style is included, but it'll need a new tire. The car is driven regularly with current CA registration that is paid until Aug. 2014. The title is clear and in my name. The car is being sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS" w/out any warranty expressed or implied. Shipping is the winning bidders responsibility, but I'll help where I can. Payment shall be in the form of cash in person and full payment is to be made within 7 calendar days from the close of the auction. The car must be picked up within 14 calendar days from the close of the auction. Please ask all question prior to bidding and any bidder w/ negative feedback or less than 10 entries, must contact me prior to bidding or your bid is subject to cancellation. Feel free to ask any questions and all bidders are encouraged to view the car in person prior to bidding. Please understand my determination of what's good, fair sound, etc. may differ from those interested in bidding. I'll provide as much information as I can to assist bidders in their assessment of the condition of the car. The car is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer available.
