Vehicle Detail
1963 Triumph T100SS Flat Tracker. Located in Avondale, Arizona, numbers matching frame, engine and title. Was restored in Washington State sometime between 2000 and 2003, by a Triumph collector of many years. Since then, it has been stored indoors (as in, inside the home) of the restorers family after his passing and now by myself. The bike will faithfully start on the first or second kick. I have only ridden the bike around my subdivision a handful of times, it primarily is on display in my library. When I first acquired it, I did do a number of local shows where it brought home awards. I will do my best to describe what I know of the bike. It has a Mikuni carb, believed to be a VM24, what I believe is an ARD magneto which to my understanding was the best available for these Triumphs but possibly no longer offered. I have been offered $1000+ just for the magneto on a number of occasions. In flat tracker style there is no front brake, and the gear shift has been relocated to the right side. The rear features Progressive shocks, and the tank was professionally clear gel sealed during restoration. The front number plate is made of aluminum and has been "engine turned" on the front face for an added touch, which gets lots of positive comments. Cosmetically there are minor paint nicks here and there as the bike was moved to a number of locations by the previous owner, and the previous owners young son did damage the right side of the tank which can be seen in the photos, and it is, as is, how I acquired it. The tank is glass smooth and was professionally painted during restoration, but a portion of the smoothing filler approximately 4" square had broken off after the previous owners son accidentally struck it with a baseball. For how we have displayed the bike it is not noticeable, we had chosen to not repair it and leave that work to the next owner so that it can be refinished/repaired by whomever the next owner is most comfortable with. On a positive side, all of the chrome parts were done very well during restoration and still show brilliantly including the rear sprocket trim, swing arm, wheels, exhaust, levers, engines mounts, small brackets etc. A custom fabricated chrome bike display stand will be included as shown in the photos. The only items we would recommend for the bike would be a new front tire as the current one is starting to weather check, an engine kill switch has not been installed but there is a wire to ground out the ignition which has been fine the few times we have run the bike. We have not been able to locate the air filter which was removed during the last bike detailing a few months ago, many aftermarket options exist for that piece. Please view the video we have made for the bike: https://vimeo.com/67023118 The bike is located in Avondale, Arizona 85392, and is available for local pick up. We will assist in shipping the bike if needed, but shipping arrangements will be the full responsibility of the buyer. There are professional crating companies available locally in Phoenix if needed, and we can transport the bike a reasonable distance locally to the buyers shipper. Please ask questions and we will do our best to answer. We have placed a reserve on the auction but will not reveal it, so please do not ask, and please only bid if you intend to follow through with the purchase. Triumphs are rare motorcycles on their own, professional vintage flat trackers are rare also, so it can be difficult to estimate a fair and accurate market value. If the reserve is not met, we may consider accepting the highest offer, so please bid as you will and Thank You!
