Vehicle Detail
Rare Find - One Owner 1974 Ford F100 4x4. This truck is a true time capsule, garaged its entire life. 300ci inline six, four speed manual trans with granny gear. We are assisting the original owner with listing this vehicle, it has been a daily driver for them since they purchased it new in 1974. The truck is fully documented with a stack of maintenance records through the years with dates, parts, and mileage for example: 147k 11/88 rear brakes, 178k 4/92 front end rebuilt, 188k 10/93 complete engine overhaul ($4400), 211k 10/95 front brakes, 263k 3/09 complete tune up, 274k 11/10 lube oil and filter, etc, on and on including a hand written maintenance ledger by the owner. In addition we have a hand written letter that tells the story of the truck being ordered at the dealership, what options were requested and how much they were etc, and also a few photos from the 70s/80s/90s and current of the truck on hunting trips etc, including one final photo with the original owner. The truck runs and drives very well, and we would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. The front seat was recently redone, using factory style and pattern vinyl and padding its now firm and tight, and new 31x10.50x15 tires were recently installed as well. Please review the photos, you will see that it still has the original factory hub caps, original vinyl floor, original Ford floormats, factory CB Radio etc. According to the owner the truck was in a minor accident in July of 1991 which required the drivers rear fender to be replaced. Due to oversight by the insurance company over the low value of the truck in their opinion, the truck was issued a rebuilt title after the repairs were completed at Sanderson Ford in Glendale, AZ but this was not found out by the owner until after it was recorded at the DMV. The truck still has that Arizona title issued 7/12/91 but it was recently signed by the owner on 6-12-13 and notorized and is ready to go for the new owner. This truck is from a period when trucks were trucks, it does not have A/C or power steering, but has a drivetrain that will litterly run forever. The vehicle has been inspected and needs nothing at this time, the front end is completely tight, all signals work, the windows roll up and down better than a new truck, the doors open and close as good as a brand new truck. It is evident the truck has been well cared for and garaged its entire life. There are a few minor dents here and there as can be seen in the photos, but the paint still has great shine, there is patina in some portions such as the door sills, the spot on the window ledge where one would rest their arm etc, that show this is an original unrestored almost forty year old truck, from when trucks were trucks. Please feel free to ask questions we will do our best to answer. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but we will be happy to assist reasonably, and can assist with fly and drive also if you need a ride from the airport etc. The truck is located in Avondale, Arizona zip code 85392, which is on the west side of the metro Phoenix market. If you would like any additional information on the truck please feel free to ask. This is very rare, very well preserved, very well documented one owner truck, you will be buying this from the original owner and will have a very unique ride that attracts attention where ever it goes. On Jul-06-13 at 07:55:09 PDT, seller added the following information: There is one mechanical note that was not listed in the original description which is that there is some side to side play in the steering box which causes the steering wheel to be off center when driving. The box had been replaced at one time, but will need to be done again at some point in time in the future, other than that, no other noticeable items. Also, we have received a number of messages inquiring about the reserve, we appeciate the eager interest in the truck, but we will not disclose the reserve, it is very very reasonable for the truck, probably on the low side for what the truck is worth, so please bid according to your budget and preferance. Thank You! On Jul-14-13 at 19:25:07 PDT, seller added the following information: We have recently recieved a handful of requests for photos of the undercarriage. We have them available and can email them, as well as any other info you would like. We can be reached at: westcoastmags@gmail.com Thank You!
