Vehicle Detail
July, 6 update: Starting bid considerably lowered and reserve removed! Market has dropped considerably in the last few weeks here on ebay and this car is going to sell to the highest bidder. Could be the buy of a lifetime. Best of luck!Outstanding, numbers matching, 73 1/2 CIS, rust free, rare SPORTOMATIC, 1 California family owned, #144 Metallic Gold 911T coupe. Sportomatic cars are becoming more and more desirable for their painless easy Sunday drive qualities as we enthusiast grow older. If you have never owned or driven a Sporto and add this one to your collection of 5 speed cars, you'll soon find yourself choosing it every time you go for a drive. The sportomatic is a wonderful mix of effortless stopping and starting while maintaining all the aggressive manual shifting you are in the mood for. Short drive through town to the market or long drive down the coastline, it's the perfect choice for 99% of your driving applications. With only about 1 in 10 cars coming with the special transmission in the first place, and half of those having been converted to 5 speeds over the years, this surviving example is now extremely rare. Motor and transmission run flawlessly. Everything in the car works as it should including the Air Conditioning however the compressor is out of the car and should be upgraded. (old unit included but not pictured). No excessive oil leaks or usage have been detected in the month or so I have had it here in my inventory. Brakes stop confidently, car handles perfectly, great smooth acceleration and no freeway wander at high speeds. All maintenance is up to date and car has been thoroughly inspected. This car is turn key and doesn't need a thing! PPI (pre-purchase inspection) is welcomed and encouraged. Special order paint code #144 Metallic Gold is one of the most breathtaking, 'in your face', over the top, period colors ever put on one of these long hood cars...and one of the rarest. It is impossible to capture in pictures just how brilliantly vivid this car's appearance is. I have included pictures in different lighting with and without flash to try and present the 'range' this color emits. Very tidy inside with front seats having just been recovered for this sale and a near flawless late 73 used carpet set transplant. All else is original and above average in preservation. All original brightwork is stunning. All seals, gaskets and felts in perfect form. Full S trim and suspension options with front and REAR factory sway bars. Original owners manual, full size Fuchs spare tire, many records, toolkit (new bag, but tools are original), jack and car cover are all included. If you are looking for something new or currently think you have every Porsche worth owning, this car should be yours! Original owner bought in Germany for US export and handed down to his adult daughter in 2001. Frankie (the daughter) loved this car and drove it once or twice a month the entire time she owned it right up to this sale. @ 118,590 in 2002, motor/drivetrain received a complete tear down down and rebuild of everything needed ( over $10,000, receipt include) @ PM Motorsports. Car runs and drives extremely well today with no issues. In 2004, car was repainted at Sacramento's premier Bertolucci's (over $20,000 in paint work receipts). Paint is amazing still today, and quality is the very best. Garaged and covered from day 1. No expense was spared on this car, ever. All numbers matching car. I have known of this car for some time and Frankie only finally decided to sell it because the last man she trusted to do the work on it, Frank, from Frank's Automotive (very long term reputable Sacramento Ca independent Porsche shop owner) retired, and prior to that, John Skoin from PM Motorsports. Frank has mechanics in place, but Frankie was so fastidious with service, she couldn't imagine how she would keep the car up as it should be without someone like Frank or John to tend to it personally. Preserved early T coupes like this just aren't around anymore, let alone in a rare color with an even rarer transmission. With every one that sells, the next one gains a little more value. Don't wait till they're all gone, or worse, all in the six figures. To get a better understanding of just how exceptional this car is, be sure to go through the link of all 134 pictures. http://s761.photobucket.com/user/car-reras/library/gold Below are just some of the highlights, in no paticular order. Bid and buy with confidence. DRD Motor Trade is my fully licensed bonded CA dealership. No extra costs other than shipping(if needed), and the usual sales taxes and DMV fees if CA resident (taxes and fees submitted on behalf of all CA buyers).
